    Yaay
Totally regretted not getting 2 indo's last week to double up on the vouchers-will now just shop between the two :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,063 ✭✭✭Greenmachine

What was the vouchers value. Was it on specific products. Was it a cashback promo, or did customer get an instore voucher for a future purchase.

There were 4 vouchers, three for 10 euro off a 50 euro spend, one for 20 off a 100 euro spend. To be used in specific weeks, one for each week in December.

Can't understand why that's always excluded, if ever there was something the consumer could do with a break on it's baby milk.

You're not allowed to reduce it to induce sales

How do you mean? Surely inducing sales is what shops want.

There's an EU directive that bans putting formula on sale or allowing to use discount coupons against them

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 236 ✭✭jinxremoving

there is a law preventing formula from being in a price reduction. from fsai site Point-of-sale advertising, giving of samples or any other promotional device to induce sales of infant formula directly to the consumer at the retail level, such as special displays, discount coupons, premiums, special sales, loss-leaders and tie-in sales are prohibited.

you can't go too far wrong with wooden toys or tents for the younglings if you get a tenner off , or throw in a few bottles of wine or Perlenbacher

Cheers, always wondered why there was never an offer on it,can remember paying upwards of €18 per tub on our first - meant we helped another economy massively.;) That's very unfair, not everyone wants breastfeeding.

It's also because it's supposed to be bad for babies to keeping switching formula brands, which would happen if promotions were allowed.

I doubt that tbh, would be nice to catch a break now and then on price though, we always just bought in bulk when we could get a good price.

Is it champs or sparkling wine?

It's sparking wine but it's using the Champagne tradition / recipe. It cannot be called Champagne because it's made in Alsace. Champagne is a region in France. Even a town 1k from Champagne they couldn't call it Champagne.

There is s lot of snobbery / ignorance around the Champagne thing. This stuff Lidl have is very very good and at that price, I,Lol be getting 12 bottles with the vouchers.

To sum it up, a good 'cremant d'alsace' is better than a crap Champagne
