Rubber flooring for a home gym

We've got a fairly decent home gym set-up in a spare room at home but there is marble tiles on the floor which are hard on the body when doing floor exercises and very loud when moving around weights, not to mention them getting damaged.

Anyone got any recommendations for what we could use to cover the floor, cost is a bit of an issue though, cheap and cheerful ftw!

Cow mats would be a good option.

It's a decent enough room in fairness. Maybe the size of a double bedroom, I will measure it properly this week.

I would rather cover the whole floor and put the equipment back in on top of it but if it is too expensive I may just get some of those tile type mats for an area.

    Cow mats!

Go to your local co-op/ agri supplier and ask for damaged ones!!!!

i got mine for 30 euro.... you could literally drive a tractor over it and it would be fine :P

The 18mm gym mats here are the way to go.
They weight 40kg each and are bomb proof, 40 euros each but worth it.

    Try these. www.crumbrubber.ie

They make mats from recycled tyres for playgrounds, schools etc.

    Same folks in both links.

I got my mats from them. Would recommend.

Yep cow / horse matts the way to go. We have a home gym and they are far better than the ones you get in Argos. We threw those ones out

Measured the room last night, it's 3.2m by 5.5m for about 17.6 square metres. I've fired off a few quotes there to see how much it would cost roughly. Thanks for the help so far.

Was working out a bit expensive to cover the room using the cow mats so in the meantime we got a load of mats in aldi which came in around 9e /m sq. Just finished putting them down now and fairly chuffed.

Looks impressive, well done! - are aldi selling those mats at the minute?

I have these on my home gym floor, they deliver within the EU for €16. They are decent value and click together, although it took me a good bit of effort as all pieces are not exactly equal! The only thing is they don't do custom sizes so you will have to cut them yourself for the corners, a good stanley knife does the trick. But for the price I wouldn't complain.

They look good but they're €24.99 for 0.85 of a m2, the Aldi mats are €9 for a m2 so they're really good value!

The Aldi mats look like crappy foam to me, are they?

If so the Abbeylawn mats are in no way comparable.
