    Hi all ,

As the heading may suggest I have thrown my hand at restoring a boat.

I am a complete and utter novice at this so no doubt I have made mistakes and I wont have the proper terminology.

I was thinking of just posting before and after pics and leaving them talk for themselves :).

I was told it is a lake boat so im just going with that :o.

Its 14 .5 foot long and its 5 foot wide at its widest.

Looks spotless, but does it float? ;)

Looks like one by O'Sullivan Marine?
Nice job, only negative comment I would make is the solid timber side thwarts / seats might trap water underneath and hasten deterioration - that would not pose a problem if she was stored under cover.

    floats like a dream :)

Ill take it as a compliment that it looks like professional job. I had a local carpenter put in the seats and they are sealed off to stop any water from getting underneath.

It will be taken in from the water after each spin and will be stored under cover so hopefully a lot of years trouble free boating

I asked as I sail in a lot of leaky boats which look fine in the yard but turn into porous monsters once afloat. Looks great, well done.

We already had a Johnson 4 hp from a previous boat. it wont go anywhere fast but it pushes along nicely all the same. I have a few friends with an 8 hp so I might try that and see
