Savage racing today and provably a card to watch more than bet.... But there is one I backed last night.
Gilt Shadow in the Royal Bond. This horse has the form to win (via The Liquidator's exploits recently) and if he was trained by a bigger stable he'd be a 3/1 shot.
A lot of hype horses here, but I'd only be wary of Hartys horse as I know he rates it very highly.

Might throw a 10er on Spurs too.

Ive a fancy for Diakali in the big one, think he is overpriced & could be the horse to upset Jezki!

Great racing today all the same & plenty of football on the box to back it up :D

Don't think it says much for Diakali when Ruby picks Zaidpour over him.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 18,335 ✭✭✭✭UrbanSea

Christmas will be cancelled if Ruby is beaten in the first

Really sweet on Gilt Shadow 6-1

Had Apache Stronghold behind him that day and we've seen what he 's done since

I really like horse, the jockey is a bad amateur though. he could cost it the race.

    That was awfully comfortable.
    At 1/3, you'd expect it!

I've gone with Minella Foru in the next.
And a forecast on Jezki to beat Zaidpour

Nice round of jumping, serious prospect

Had the second biggest bet of my life on that filly at 2/5. Shame I missed the 4/7

I was going to back it at 4/7 last night but for some reason didn't.

    Oh well

The lad lashing on 4/7 shots

Must need the $$$ for Crimbo.

Minella Foru looks a huge price at 13/2.

    No pace at all :(

Arctic Fire very unlucky, might have got there without the traffic problems. McCoy didn't push at all once he knew the race wasn't there to be won.

A lot of disappointing displays there, i'd be taking the form with a pinch of salt.
Possible a lot of them need further than 2 miles and the slow pace didnt suit.

Townsend was obviously told to go slow and set it up for the speedier type Alonso. Scumbags from that Mullins stable :D

SRFC must have done his bollox there, backed all three Mullins horses and none of them won.

I quite like the look of 2.50 Fairyhouse Kalico Kim 20/1. Looks an out and out stayer and I think a mark of 102 underestimates her.

I'd say he had 100k on the first though.

JP obviously wants a few ****e runs from him to tee him up for handicap off a nice mark.

Ruby has picked the wrong Mullins horse before. Just having small bet on Diakali.

Ridden by a Mullins so he probably had.:pac:

I did a pile of accumulators and had Minella Foru in them and did one cover one with Alonso. How ****e am I?

Where's Francie Barrett when you need him.

    Sayhe fairly wasted himself yesterday

    Gilt Shadow was fairly ****e

    Don Cossack here 5/2

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,775 ✭✭✭✭Slattsy

Avoid backing Davy Russell at all costs, he's gone to the dogs.
Cooper will be numero uno there by 2015.

Victirix Gale and Another Palm to give PC a double and I'm out after that. Irish horse racing is a funny old game, it's hard to win when the racing is sh1te and its even harder when its good.

Left this race go, but I'd be sweet on Sizing Rio, thought he was a good winner at Cork last time out

    Sizing Rio

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,775 ✭✭✭✭Slattsy

    What a goal!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,839 ✭✭✭FortuneChip

To be fair, Davy did a good job there, didn't look easy between the last two

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 18,335 ✭✭✭✭UrbanSea

    That was a nice performance

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,527 ✭✭✭passremarkable

    Good man Russell

    Sizing Rio very disappointing there

Don Cossack isn't the most straight forward but I liked the way he knuckled down there & beat a hardened handicapper

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,786 ✭✭✭Motivator

Anyone have any idea what the first 3 home traded at on betfair?

That was a really strange race, I'd say carlingford lough will have traded about 1.10 just before Don Cossack picked up. I'd say there was carnage on the exchanges there!

Very odd ride on Victrix Gale there, miles back turning in. Responded very well for pressure between the last two and he stopped riding a fair bit before the last when he would only have been a length down had he wanted to get there.

The handicapper should give himself a pat on the back after that last race.

Anyone now why Ruby was riding Mullins good thing in the first and not Russell?

    1.28 carlingford lough
    1.98 road to riches
    2.5 sizing rio
Don Cossack traded at a high of 10

Must have thought Elliots was a better horse.

    Does anyone bet in play?

I don't really use betfair and I was looking at a race in Leicester and Betfair was a good 8 seconds ahead of the tv pictures. Surely the guys on track have a massive advantage.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,173 ✭✭✭hucklebuck

That was quite an odd ride on Diakali, I thought Townend would give him a squeeze as he could hear Jezki coming and then he just let Jezki go by him and only went for him after the mistake at the last?

I used to get involved on Bet365 in play.
They're prices were always a bit behind Betfair, so you'd try spot a wrong price.
They close betting usually a couple of furlongs out

    Happy Days, forecast paid 7.77

I was a big fan of Don Cossack but I don't think he is as good as I thought. Odd saying that after he just won a Grade 1 but in a stronger race I'd oppose him.
