Thanks OP - been looking for a nest of tables for a while, good price. Just hope they are good enough quality, the value range is cat!

Edit: - if it says not available for store pick up - does that mean that I just can't reserve it or that it is delivery only?

I wouldn''t think so, if the price changes after you reserve it you don't get the reservation price, you have to pay the price at the til when you collect it.

Probably too much traffic hitting it today...

I appear to have double-reserved somehow (got what I wanted in Liffey Valley!)! If anyone wants a code for 2 x Lego and 1 x JCB set in Blanch just PM me for it! Don't think it can be split sorry!

    Update: Gone. That was quick!

    Doubt it.
The price you pay is the price on the day.

Usual robbery price differences between UK and Ireland, even on their Black Friday stock.

    Argos Ireland : €70.49
    Argos UK : £49.99 = Roughly €60

Cheers, ya I checked it myself for the laptop later again even.

So I was talking to the hosting company, a script from my site was causing heavy load "StockCheckBackground.php".. look what your greed has done, you've killed it! :pac:

Still waiting for a call back on a resolution to the problem (It's hardly a coincidence that on the day argos have a sale that it goes down, so it must just be a load thing)

Apologies for the down time folks

I would imagine the PS4 release today is also adding to the traffic.

    All,

If I dont collect until tomorrow, am I at risk of price going back up?

From their site on reserving items:
"Please note that our prices change, sometimes on a daily basis. The price you pay is the price in store on the day you collect your items."

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,225 ✭✭✭fillefatale

Nice one, needed a new hairdryer so reserved the Babyliss one - hairdryers are so expensive usually so €26 is grand! If I pick it up today, that's the price I pay right?

It says something about the pricing down the bottom of the page:

e.g. - the lego bucket says

    * Please note item 9110661 has previously been on sale at €23.99.

Current selling price valid until 17/01/2014

TBH I wouldn't trust that, although it could be a case where they know they won't replenish stocks until then, so they'll just let it sell out. However, this is in the Black Friday list of deals, so there may still be a change...

Hey guys I've posted an update on the checkargos thread.

The TL;DR is my account got suspended for too much traffic, site back up but not currently checking stock. Likely to be down for the day as I'm in work

Moved the website to an AWS server for the moment, For a while the DNS will still hit the old site. You will know you are on the new site when this link returns "Unkown Status"

If you want to use in the mean time you visit it directly here

to answer my own question, yes it's kept there and charged at the rate you reserved it at as I just got mine there at Lunch time.

Good deals but no way could that JCB kit be really worth €48 as the full price says. It must be on permanent half price sale.
And the lego box contains an awful lot of very small pieces so be warned with regards to younger kids.

But good value at these prices
