It sometimes works better if you say what you are eating, and you can get advice on whats good and whats bad within that, and what changes you can make.

In a nutshell, unprocessed food is better for you.

    Meat and veg.

    Nuts and seeds.

A small bit of fruit and starch.

    Little or no sugar.

In quantities which support your health and training goals.

I would add in some olive oil, coconut fat, fish, green tea, herbs (ginger & turmeric) and loads of water.

what hanley and siochan said with added fish oil.

However really important but it's non food (so divert from the orginal question) is to get good quality sleep too.

skin can't look good with lack of sleep.

The effects of diet on skin health are overrated. Anyone with severe achne should consult with a dermatologist as the issue is beyond the scope of nutrition / fitness / stress / sleep fixes. I'm not suggesting those things don't have a bearing, they do. But someone with very bad skin needs specialist help and advice.

In my experience, people who've never had very bad skin are always very quick to prescribe nutrition advice as the ultimate cure. :)

@ OP: by the sounds of your opening post in the other thread you've started you should seek a consultation. I've been there by the way, it is a problem that can be fixed. Best of luck.

If I eat junk (pizza, chocolate, sweets etc ) I am guaranteed to break out in spots a few days later.

    And I don't have acne.

i have really bad acne scars and dark spots so i was just wondering what the best foods and drink would be for my skin? :)

I had acne of the severe variety and it took a dermatologist to sort it. I still do get some spots from time to time if I negate sleep and stress management, but if people have really bad cases the root problem needs to be addressed first.

I occasionally have a look on the Bodybuilding.com forums and they're all raving about the acne-reducing effects of Apple Cider Vinegar. Meant to be have lots of other good effects aswell, such as reducing acidity in the body.

Personally, my face looks less puffy when I remove dairy & caffeine from my diet. But maybe that's just me :)
