As for the games themselves, definitely going to pickup Kerbal Space Program, and pretty much any older game that will play on my laptop that i don't already have.

When the 'Today's Deal' they put up last night was for 16 hours and not the usual 48, I figured something was going to happen at 6pm this evening :)

Ooooh, Skyrim for 7.49 or Legendary edition for 13.59.

Seems to be a lot of the same games on offer as the summer sale.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,130 ✭✭✭ussjtrunks

Definately getting the legendary edition and possibly Rogue Legacy :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,261 ✭✭✭Sonics2k

    Bioshock Infinite for the girlfriend.

Skyrim: Dragonborn and Batman: Arkham Origins for me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,561 ✭✭✭Rhyme

    Yoink, Fly'n and Samorost 2.

Not much else that I don't have/want for today. I'll wait and see if Far Cry 3 and Brothers go Daily, keep my eye on the other Daily/Flash sales and hoover up a few mini-bargains later in the sale.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,547 ✭✭✭Agricola

Would like to pick up State of Decay at some stage. Will see if its goes for less than a tenner.

Off to a bad start in the best way possible.

Skyrim with DLC, Prison Architect and Sleeping Dogs. €30 on Day 1 :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,878 ✭✭✭Robert ninja

I'm being good, nothing on the list that has made me purchase yet. Will see what they have to offer later.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,501 ✭✭✭omerin

DL the Rayman demo and liked it but its cheaper at Gamefly

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,562 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

I see they don't have the community vote this time.

Nothing there for me yet. Would like to pick up Wolf Among Us and/or Walking Dead preorder cheap

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,027 ✭✭✭✭titan18

Have Sleepings Dogs, Skyrim and Walking Dead already, so nothing on the first day that interests me. Would get the Skyrim DLC if it was at 75% off, but at 50%, nah.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,640 ✭✭✭Pushtrak

I might get The Walking Dead. Have it already on 360, but what the heck.

I'd have gotten Skyrim even though I have it on 360 too due to the modding. Oblivion too. I mean (as examples), with Oblivion there is the mod Morroblivion that I haven't followed too closely on account of not having Oblvion GOTY on my PC. And an equivalent of Skyrim too. I have Morrowind GOTY on disc but not on hand. The version of Skyrim that is there is just vanilla Skyrim. The GOTY of Skyrim is at 66% off. I'll leave buying it till later in the hopes that it goes lower.

I also have a couple of indies in my wishlist, so we'll see what comes of them.

I cannot understand for the life of me how Prison Architect is getting so much exposure. It has been on Steam's front page for an eternity. It's not even nearly finished yet. Someones dad is a high ranking executive at steam

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 10,669 Mod ✭✭✭✭Andrew76

Darks Souls only €10.19 for anyone who hasn't played it yet, fabulous game.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,294 ✭✭✭✭MadYaker

Should this not be in the main games forum? Most people don't even know this forum exists! Anyway nothing on it at the moment that I don't already have.

    Edit:

Damn you, damn you to hell, bought it! It won't even get to play it anytime soon.

I hear the PC port was shambolic though.

There is a fan-made patch that fixes everything. A controller is absolutely needed though.

It's my most played game the last month!

Maybe when it first came out? I only got it a month or two ago and it looks and plays great (I'm using a 360 controller rather than kb & mouse).

    $7.49 on Amazon.com

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,294 ✭✭✭✭MadYaker

Ha I was about to buy Crysis 2 there, only to discover I already own it! I've never even downloaded it :(

Ooh Age Of Empires II for €9.49, that's tempting.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,467 ✭✭✭McSasquatch

Was just about to say that other companies will price match or even try to out-do Steam during their sale for certain games, so shop around and look for the bargain thread in the main game forum!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 176 ✭✭paddyman

ha - these sales always get me.

i have 3-4 games from the last sale i never even played. Yet i just got Skyrim Legendary Edition and Farm Simulator Titanium :)

Dark souls, prison architect and rogue legacy are looking to be my first falters this time round

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,528 ✭✭✭ShaShaBear

Have been holding out FOREVER on getting Skyrim + DLC as my partner has it on Xbox and I could never really justify spending.
    So much for that!

My boyfriend's first Steam Sale, it's like Xmas just came and smacked him in the face!

I called in my both Cards to bank to be blocked and Fully replaced due to some Assholes trying to take out loans on my email. ( just to be on the safe side )
In 30 min after phone call I see Steam sale... My cards will be posted only on Monday...

    **** you....

That sucks and is not one bit amusing at all. Screw those guys, I hope they burn in hell.

Having said that, when I started reading your post I thought you were going to say you rang your bank and blocked your cards so you wouldn't blow all your money in the sale.

Keep an eye out for games you want. Someone here will get it as a gift for you and you can pay 'em back later on. I'd have no bother doing so, for instance.

Aye, was thinking that too. Was thinking to ask friends from north to buy it and later on when sorted I would send out money back with paypal. If anyone would willing to help me out from here to, then would be great.
I dont really think I am a shady person, I was in boards.ie for some time! :D

    For Dark Souls:
The Amazon version is Windows live...
You buy the game and get a code, can this code be used in steam?
Also if I buy it in steam does it work through steam or windows live?

For my part, I get an email notification on new replies to this thread, and check it as I can. Just post it in the thread, so someone can reply and say they'll get it so we don't get 10 people buy whatever.

On Amazon, they do have a thing that says you need "steam and windows live" but that strikes me as wrong. Why would one need both? It seems like it should be either.

Aye, you should hear me talk m8. I live in Cork around 9 years. My accent sounds... interesting at this stage, you can ask lads from Motors forum on here. :D They sow it in action in one of the meets. :D

Mirosoft have stopped enforcing GFWL for pc so it must be only for Steam

You register the game through Steam and download it through Steam. However, when you play the game you have to use a GFWL account, that's why they say both.

Gone Home, RPG Maker VX Ace, Prototype 2 and Super Meat Boy as flash sales. First 3 at 75%, SMB at 80%.

I bought it off amazon a few days ago.

Its a steam code, I registered it with steam

As far as i know internally the game uses GFWL to handle multiplayer, the same way GTA4 does

Any musical talent?, you could try busking outside gamestop and use your earnings to buy steam wallet vouchers ;)

I successfully managed to avoid the last sale and thought I could do the same again this time round.

Then I heard Skyrim was on sale..................

Although, very proud of myself that I only bought the Skyrim Legendary Edition and nothing else. No idea when I'll get time to get around to it. Ah well, another one for the long list.
