Anvi Slim Toolbar, is it safe?

Hi everyone, I recently noticed that my husband had downloaded ILivid to watch a movie and noticed my computer was extremely slow. I uninstalled all the programs that came with ILivid, but I noticed that the program Anvi Slim Toolbar popped up and said it would remove any malicious toolbars that are on my computer. I was just wondering, is it safe to download, or is it just another 'browser hijacker'? Please let me know, Thanks

From a cursory look, it appears to be a program that claims to block or removes malware. Sometimes these are legit, as in they do what they say on the tin. Other times malware comes packaged as anti-malware

I'll move this to a more OS specific forum to see what the PC geeks have to say.

There's no such thing as a good toolbar. At best, they're only useless. At worst, they're riddled with malware. Even stuff like the google or bing toolbars are utterly useless for 99% of users

What the above poster said. If you want to remove annoying toolbars or browser hijackers run ADWCleaner
