This should be a very interesting programme.

However, I think Jackie Healy-Rae has some neck on him to be moaning that he might lose his medical card

It is one seriously messed up country that allows retired TDs on generous pensions and other business interests to have a medical card, while some cancer patients, people with MND, MS and children with special needs either can't get a medical card or they're being taken off them. Jackie doesn't know how lucky he is.

The Irish electorate on display, not much point complaining about politicians in Ireland.

I don't blame Kerry people for voting for the Healy-Raes, they seem to deliver for their constituents.

However, my problem with politicians like the Healy-Raes, Michael Lowry, John O'Donoghue, the late, Tony Gregory and Padraig Flynn is they looked after their own constituencies at the expense of the rest of us.

In the case of Jackie Healy-Rae and Tony Gregory they held governments to ransom so they could look after their own patch and ensure re-election.

During John O'Donoghue's time as Minister for Sport, Kerry received the highest amount of lotto funding for projects. O'Donoghue ploughed €5.85 million into Kerry which was three times more than other counties of the same size received. He granted €300,000 towards a marina development in Caherciveen (his home place) and €550,000 to a rowing club in Killorglin which is also in his constituency. And if that wasn't enough, he transferred the Legal Aid Head Office to Caherciveen. I'm amazed there isn't a monument to the man in Caherciveen

The great thing though, was that he lost his seat in the very hall that he built :D

To be very frank I think Jackie and his kind know exactly how lucky they are. And they haven't a bulls notion of giving up a single cent of what they feel is their due.

Their people who looked after their own,its hard to dislike them, anyone can see their hearts in the right place, but to anyone not from a rural background they seem rough and uncouth but you would go a long way to get anyone as cute or sharp as them boys

Mid-boggling stuff that we are paying Michael €142,627 to attend funerals, weddings etc. etc.

His brother Danny is the local councillor, Michael is a TD.

They probably already do, they own everything in and around Kilgarvan anyway.

That accent is insufferable. Imagine the shame if they had to stand up and talk in Brussels.

More mind boggling that the father on a TD pension is worried about losing his medical card.

The Sinn Féin documentary looks interesting but I find Ursula Halligan hard to listen to. She is a bit over enthusiastic.

Believe it or not but that's how most of the people talk down that way, it would be unusual if he spoke with an east Belfast accent coming from kerry

She is a reporter on TV3's Midweek programme. It's on every Wednesday at 10pm.

Their plant hire business does a lot of work for the Kerry county council and is usually the highest paid sub contractor each year.
