    Circuits - 15 drills & 45min 4kg medicine ball work, I've a feeling I might be a tad sore tomorrow!

    2mile recovery run @ 12:48min/mi (4.7 Threadmill setting)
Nice handy run on the Threadmill, wasn't getting soaked for a very slow 2miles, I'd never have warmed up!

Also did Tracy Anderson Arms while baby took a very short nap:)

Weigh in today, down 2.5lbs, now 9st9:D
Over achiever! You will be the new mum all other mothers hate!

4.5m LSR - what a difference a week makes, make a real effort the 1st mile to keep the pace slow & got into a nice rhythm. Had planned 4mile out & back route but at the turnaround point I felt great so went just a little further. Pace felt really easy all the way home! Avg 12:15min/mi vs 12:41min/mi last week & felt easier so I'm improving at least:)

    Mile 1 12:17
    Mile 2 12:20
    Mile 3 12:17
    Mile 4 12:21
    Mile 4.5 5.59

Great consistency shortstuff! Things seem to be coming along nicely for you.
Will you do a 5k race before the end of the year? Hard to believe it's nearly a year since Santry!!!

Thanks Ososlo, finding having the club sessions really helps in that I'll have a babysitter organised so no backing out! Gotta love grandparents for babysitting, other half trains a lot too so hoping the novelty doesn't wear off;) Hard to believe is right, been a busy year!! Yeah hope to do a race by the end of the year, hopefully have a bit of speed back by then! What dates Santry? Was only reading through this log the other day, I'd be delighted to get anywhere near the same time but I'd say it'll be another couple of months!

Club hill training 3.5miles @ 10:55min/mi avg - 4 medium hill sprints, pace run, 4 medium hill sprints
The title of this log describes hill training perfectly for me, certainly at the back of the pack! Don't have the power in my legs just yet. Tough at times seeing the girls I could keep up with last year sprinting into the distance but confident that I'll get back to where I was & hopefully a little faster;) Happy with my times for today's hill sprints all the same!

    Club training - Mile time
We did drills followed by warm up jog, queue for loo, 1 mile flat out, cool down jog. A lot of messy with watch but I'd say this was about 3miles all in.

Shocked by the amount if women (ladies only running group) that snook off home after the warmup, one actually hid so she wouldn't have to do it as she reckoned it wouldn't be a PB & couldn't face the disappointment, same girl was disappointed she hadn't given it a go afterwards but sure there was no convincing her!

Started at the very back of the pack, within a few seconds, racing spirit kicked in & I took off round the outside until I was working hard on breathing, passed loads, tucked in behind 2women & focused on passing these out, passed another 2 or 3 out, was keeping pace with 1 just behind me but she then took off or maybe I slowed down, either way no catching her. Girl I ran with at training 2 weeks ago was ahead in a bright top so aimed at gradually catching her which I did with about 50metres to go! Felt amazing, came 31st :) My garmin has me at 8:26min/mi, expect official time to be slightly slower due to starting at the back

Was meant to be a rest day but baby was asleep on the couch & if I didn't do something I would have ate rubbish out of boredom! So did a bit of xtraining... arms & core:)

    Down 1.5lbs bringing weight to 9st7.5. That's a stone down in 7weeks:)

Club circuits - couldn't make the class I usually go to so went to the later one which is more advanced, can feel the difference! Hopefully squeeze in a recovery run tomorrow, baby is going through the 12 week growth spurt so is feeding loads & sleeping very little so training may have to take a back seat.

    Cranky baby = rest day

Or in my experience cranky baby = no rest. That's great going with the weight loss, fair play to you.

No rest is right:( Reckon he woke up about 6 times last night, run isn't looking too likely this evening either, might manage to get over to my mams to use her treadmill if he sleeps! Other half is working this evening.

Thanks, delighted with the loss so far, another 1/2 stone & reckon all my old clothes should fit, hopefully by Xmas, then another 1/2 stone & I'll be at my optimum weight - that could take awhile!!

Club session was a pyramid session, 1, 2, 3, 3, 2, 1 min @ 80% max pace with 1 min recovery in between. We we're put into groups based on last weeks mile time, problem was the number of women who didn't do it meant my group had a range of times going from 7:45 to 8:45, with me being the slowest. I was ok for the 1st 2 but couldn't keep up after that, so did a lot of this session on my own. A good few who had missed the mile time last week did it instead of the session so hoping I'll have a group that'll be a better fit pace wise next week!

    Baby's 3 months old today:)
Club circuits, basically a lot of medicine ball work & planks!

Ha not a hope, have a wedding dress to squeeze into in 2years time, plenty of time for more babies after;) Was down 1/2lb this week

    27/11/14
3miles @ 12min/mi lets call it a recovery run at that pace! Picked up a litre of milk from the shop around the 2mile mark so a bit of light weight training thrown in:)

Hill training -3miles approx - 1 short, 1 medium, 2long, 1 medium, 1 short. Tough session but felt great after!

    1/12/14
Club session - warmup, hurdles, 18 easy run. Hurdles were fun, better at it than expected considering my legs are soo short!!

Down 1.5lb at weigh in, wouldn't be a result of a perfect diet, breastfeeding really is great for the waistline!

    3/12/14
Circuit training, glad this was indoors, it's freezing!

Down 2lbs at yesterday's weigh in! Another 2.5 to get to a heathy BMI, hopefully by the end of the year:)

Still no exercise since last update but feeling much better so hope to run tomorrow.

    29/12/14 4miles@12min/mi

Agh not much running been done lately... Managed a slow icy 4mile run today, very proud of not falling over, couple of close shaves!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 852 ✭✭✭shortstuff!

    31/12/14 6.2m @ 13min/mi approx

I said months ago when I started back running after having my baby that I wanted to run 10km by the end of the year. Well training in December was an absolute joke but said feck it Id go & see how I find it, not one to say I'll do something & not follow through. Out & back route, wind made the 1st half a lot harder than the 2nd half. Stupidly didn't put garmin on charge properly so no stats, not that they're really needed, let's just call it slow!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 852 ✭✭✭shortstuff!

    Just a little update...

Haven't been doing much running since the new year to update the log. Joined a buggy Bootcamp, have been doing lots of Jillian Michaels exercise videos & lots of walking though so havent just been sitting on my ass!!

Weight is down to 117lbs so that's one of my original goals reached at least:D

There was a local 5km last night which passed my house so I had no excuse. Nothing like a race to get back some motivation for running! Anyway I won a prize... 1st buggy home:) Managed to run the whole thing with a 20lb 7mth old in 32:47, won't give out about the hills as they were a definite help on the way down.

Can't wait to go for the next run now:D
