    Should you try to control it or try to lose the weight after?

    If you're not working out, you won't need to eat as much.

    Therein lies the answer.

    Why would exams cause you to gain weight?

    Why would exams cause you to gain weight?

    Because you are cramming so much knowledge into your brain that it's going to weigh more.

    Post exam sessions should nicely bring down the brain cell count and weight will be back to normal. win/win

    exams = stress

    stress = eating more and weight gain

    You studying for an arts degree by any chance?

    Nope computer science

    Eat the same as you're eating now, take note of what you currently eating everyday and don't eat extra around exams. Deciding now that you're going to eat more at exam time is going to make you eat more, not any magical hunger inducing effects of 'stress'.

    surely stress would = weight loss.

    Higher heart rate, loss of appetite.

    actually it should be:
    if (youAreHungry==true){
      eat();}
    else{
     donteat();
    }

    It's pseudocode, no need to be picky.

    no need for the ==.

    Do some more exercise - clear mind for the exams!

    If eating loads of crap helps you with your exams then fire ahead. It's not like you're gonna put on a few stone in such a short time period.

    consider it your bulking phase

    i used to find this a huge problem at exam time. stress combined with no time to go shopping / cooking meant eating more crap / takeaway stuff.

    assume you will put on a bit of poundage. hit the road after - couple weeks - right as rain again

    There's 2 stress response manifestations.

    One causes increase in appetite, one causes decrease.

    Varies from person to person!
