    What an absolute cnut.

I'm pretty sure also that these things are advertised as "package holidays" where they guarantee you your kills. They entice them into these enclosed spaces while these flesh wastes sit there in a comfortable tree house just waiting to pick them off.....

So she hunted a lion... indoors?

What the f**k is the point of that?

This is the mildest qualification i would give this !!
Ricky Gervais, the British comedian, shared Ms Bachman's comment “what a hunt!” on his own Twitter feed, adding: “Spot the typo”.

What possesses these ****ing droolers in such a way that they take pride in shooting a beautiful animal like that?

Drop the bitch into a lion cage for a while and see how she feels about it.

Fucking hell! You mean he actually tweeted about something other than the fact that he's an atheist?

I think these hunts often take place on managed parks, the parks get part of their funding from allowing hunters to come in and carry out any culling.

If she was going to eat what she was killing, I wouldn't have a huge problem with this. Instead, she's killed an animal that is considered vulnerable for no real reason.

This dumb moral equivocation provides cover for morons who take pride in shooting exotic animals like Lions.

    Well done.

Lions hunt. Humans shoot things from a distance.

It also reduces the number of illegal hunts going on in the surrounding areas.

People are awful fcuking hypocrites when it comes to this stuff.

Not sure what your point is. Do you think we should have these 'hunt parks' to stop folks illegally hunting in surrounding areas?

Are you saying people are hypocrites for disagreeing with the above? Or that they're hypocrites based on previous points if they eat meat?

Ethically I have issues with people hunting exotic big game like this as it's clearly for a thrill. Reminds me of British colonial hunters from times past with giant elephant guns - similar hunts have now lead to species facing extinction. It's definitely not a pass-time which should be promoted.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,949 ✭✭✭A Primal Nut

Bear in mind that these particular animals are bred to be hunted. Their numbers in these parks are controlled and it acts a profitable incentive for these animals to continue to exist.

She didn't kill a wild lion in the middle of nowhere.

That said, I don't see what skill/thrill there is in shooting a large, probably stationary animal.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,204 ✭✭✭dodderangler

So she killed a lion and posed with it?

They're hypocrites because they'll preach about conservation and how it's bad to hunt for trophies, while not having the faintest fcuking idea about what they're on about.

Trophy hunting like this actually goes towards improving conservation

    http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2007/03/070315-hunting-africa.html

I'm not saying I agree with it fwiw, and in an ideal world no big game would be hunted.. but we don't live in an ideal world, and it is.

would there be the same outrage if said lion mauls a family of local villagers to death ? or would that just be nature ? i forget were not part of nature are we ? i forget too what does a predator do that is on top of the food chain ?

Don't condone what she did just pointing out facts

Glorifying it instead of representing what it actually is is a much bigger problem. It costs a lot for the US big game hunters to come to Africa to hunt. Do you think that this sort of publicity she courts will make people more or less likely to try and 'get some of the action' even if they do it 'on the cheap/illegally'

I wouldnt go around calling people hypocrites without all the facts. There is no consensus that trophy hunting is needed for conservation. It constitutes a very small percentage of conservation funds. If it died out tomorrow, conservation would not end.

Personally I think it's a terrible thing to do and a shame of an absolutely gorgeous animal.

However I remember talking to a game ranger in South Africa how he felt about hunting. He told me that while he really doesn't think it's a great thing it needs to be put in perspective. Some of these 'hunters' can pay enormous amounts of money for the privilege of shooting a lion (he mentioned a sum of 30000 USD). Money which in turn can get used for conservation and breeding schemes.

So while it's a horrible waste of a gorgeous animal, if shooting a lion can fund a game reserve or conservation scheme for a while....

I can't understand what the attraction in shooting an animal just for the sake of shooting it though.

This has nothing to do with the food chain. She's not going to eat the lion.

Lions kill for food. They don't kill just for the sake of it and then post a picture of a dead gazelle on Twitter.

If a lion ever got the chance he'd kill you and everyone you care about.

Where you come from is it? I'm not all that interested in your private life tbh.
An introduced, alien, exotic, non-indigenous, or non-native species, or simply an introduction, is a species living outside its native distributional range, which has arrived there by human activity, either deliberate or accidental.

Cows came from Turkey and Iraq.

Good thing we don't have lions in Ireland seems you think there poor defenceless animals im sure if a group of them were outside your house you would let the kids out to pet them ? and were the apex predator deal with it we kill everything else. And if lions only kill for food why when they take over another pride they kill all the young from the previous alpha ?

as i said i don't condone what she did.

Who said lions are defenceless? They are when it comes to a 'fixed hunt' where there can only be one outcome- the lions death.
I dont understand how people can take pride in their 'hunting skills' when the conclusion is predetermined.

I heard that Lion got what he had coming rumour had it he was an absentee father, never provided for the kids and had several females on the go.
Also heard he was claiming benefits while doing foxes on the side.
Apparently he was talking smack about women too saying they cant shoot for sh*t, looks like he was wrong.

We kill animals for food. Actually, we breed and THEN kill animals for food. We kill animals for clothing.
