Your dream gym

Currently building a new gym and am literally looking at a 1000 different pieces of equipment. There's always so many variations and bits and pieces you can get.
So for inspirational purposes - what's in your dream gym?
Personally I love the Velocity Performance gyms over in States..just think of DeFranco's gym but 20 times bigger!

D-gal Where will your gym be based?

I used to use the 24 hour Fitness gyms in San Diego. Used about 5 different ones and they were all massive. My favourite place to train so far has been the Galway City Gym at 7.30 am. Clem will be missed.

just give me, a rack that has pull ups and dips, a good platform with bumper weights, adjustable bench and a good set of dumb bells.

More than one squat rack. No smith machines.

• Bench with proper setup for spotting (i.e. spotter foot placement) & adjustable safetys to save your face.... or power rack(s)
• Many squat racks with safetys ... or power rack(s)
• Many 20kg bars with decent knurling
• Weights that actually weigh what they are marked as
• Pull Ups bar with various grips
• Deadlift loader contraption
• Decent range of DBs
• Chalk bucket that has chalk in it most of the time

Obviously the Herc's is my dream gym :-) ,
But unfortunately such clubs don't make money, but as we are an amateur club we are lucky we don't need to.

@Dgal - it really depends on what you are trying to achieve with your facility, or what budget you have to invest.

Go Performance have a great Boutique Franchise set up in the states.
I visited a few of there facilities , its a good mix for a commercial set up. and they are all very profitable.

My dream gym would have a "dream machine", a gymnastics pulley system so you are roughly cutting your bodyweight in half, making advanced moves possible.

Kettlebells, Sandbags, Kegs, Sledge Hammers and tyres, weight sleds, Dip Bars, pull-up bars, olympic rings, isometric rack, peg board, bouldering walls, indoor sprint track. Outdoor area with a military assault course. I don't ask for much!
