Making the trip to Donnybrook this week are ...

The most successful British Singer in Chart History (sort-of) and the man who brought Rock and Roll to the UK (ish) - It's Cliff Richard
    images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQJvlwJ565FE0G_i4K6NWYOa5F95SGIL0-9Tk7EFG7YGY-PCWrj5w

He's been in Downton Abbey, Rome and The Sweeney, but not at the same time - it's Irish Actor Allen Leech

Speaking of Downton Abbey, here's a cat that looks like the Dowager

    Cast-Of-Downton-Abbey-As-Dogs-And-Cats5.jpg

She's fresh from her recent lauded appearance on The Graham Norton Show, she's the Ken Barlow of Eastenders, she's Dot Cotton aka June Brown
    (That's her on the right)

Seminal Irish band The Blades are reforming and playing in the Olympia in Dublin soon after 27 years. They'll be in to promote that

    the-blades-event.jpg

There is something about Teddys - Photographer Mark Nixon has a new book out which has photos of old loved Teddy Bears. He and some others will be talking teddys tonight

There is a Celebrity Comedy Improv Night on in Dublin this weekend.

Those well known comedians Sile Seoige, Jenny Buckley and Daniella Moyles will talk about it

    2011-11-daniella-moyles-4.jpg

Also - from the World of Golf - three time major winner Padraig Harrington

    th?id=H.4968509511109017&pid=1.7

And finally, priest talk with Father Brian Darcy

No Graham Norton Show this week so hopefully there won't be any split thread awkwardness.

There isn't a Ghost of A Chance I'll be anywhere else on Friday at 9.35pm

I suppose we might have to have a look at Cliff's "Irish Jig" as well and decide if it's a yea or nay............:)

If I was cynical (which I am :D) I would say his PR people started that debate to get some publicity for him and his upcoming tour.

It's a tough time for Cliff - he is losing the Calendar Sales war to One Direction. It will be the first time in decades he hasn't had the top selling Celebrity Calendar. He's like an English version of Eoin McLove

Will be interesting to see Paul Cleary and the Blades play again. They'd a big rivalry with U2 in the late 70s, most music journalists at the time were labeling the Blades as the 'next big thing' not Bono and co.

Today's the day that Tubridy talks 'bout Teddys.

In your face Children In Need - You might have Pudsey but RTE has lots of Teddy Bears.

Edit: Also a Celebrity Charity Comedy thing

See the bottom of the Updated OP for more details.

I know he hasn't been trendy since the word trendy was trendy, but I have respect for Cliff.

He was one of the first British People to 'get' Rock n Roll and it's amazing to think he is still recording today (after 100 Albums)

He hasn't been any good for a while, but from about 1975-85 he had plenty of good songs.

And he was in Summer Holiday. And he sang Congratulations in Eurovision

And Little Town is an underrated Christmas Classic

    Cliff Rocks!

It's the only LLS of the year I skip.

It's too popular, I prefer the ordinary, less popular shows.

That must be the best thing about getting older I assume - you just do as you want… and you can let your personality shine if your mental faculties permit. June Brown is fantabulous!!! So funny, so vivacious, so independent..
