Will this work as a snow foam. Looks a great deal. Thanks.

I presume so but the detergent bottle leaves a nice foam on the car anyway..

Guys, you ain't gonna beat a real snow foam lance.

Detailing Shed do the Autobrite Foam lance. That is what you need. Proper foaming action. It'll cling, it'll dwell. Your neighbours will think you are nuts. The wife may divorce you. And you won't know yourself.

The neighbours already think I'm nuts. The oh has been threatening divorce with years and I only recently found myself, but trying to get gear on the really cheap. So I think I might get this washer and hope someone else spots a da6 pro for €30 and I will be sorted. :-)

I tried a borrowed washer with detergent bottle and a liter of solution put about 2 suds on car. After I win lotto at weekend it won't be a problem.

    Not at all!

I have the exact same one and can't fault it, The other similar sized domestic washers I have used don't come close.

While we are on the topic can I throw in my name for a Flex DA with the backing plates for less than €200.

    Ahhhhh, dreams.

Lads I was thinking of putting a hot water tap outside the house, would this damage the washer in any way?? BTW I would only be using lukewarm water..

Nope; max inlet temp is 40C

So, is this worth buying or not?

It looks good value and I will go for it if it's decent.

On the way, there will be shiny cars outside again. :-)

Afaik the 120's have an induction aluminium motor rather than a universal plastic motor. These also pull from a water butt. €80 is excellent value for a c120

have one ordered myself also just to pick up snow foam lance now

    110 has aluminium motor too.

To use on a water butt is it simply a standard hose connection and does the butt need much elevation? Any one got a link to one that works ok as I have a Nilfisk and like many others am thinking of water charges.

    Cheers MAJJ

    Thanks Mr Curran!

I phoned D.I.D in Galway today, none in stock but the helpful chap I spoke to is ordering one in for me. Hopefully will have on Thursday.

Thanks again for the great info!

Got mine on Wednesday. Great little machine. Nice and small. Like the way it is easy to remove HP hose for storage. One question I have, is it really worth getting snow foam lance. At about €65 for one, it is hard to justify (to the wife anyway). Forgot to thank mr Curran for the original post pointing to the bargain.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,377 ✭✭✭Curran

They can be got for less than 65! ;) And the proper ones too! :)

Definitely worth getting one for this time of year, for keeping your paintwork swirl free....the foam suspends the heavy dirt and grit in the foam so it can be safely rinsed away.
Also, if you do a good job on all your shuts and jambs, like around the boot lid, etc, the foam gets in there keeps them nice and clean...doesnt bother some people having those areas dirty, but it certainly annoys me! :)

Sorry, I saw on your site for €55, just have big fingers and small phone. 😄

I'd have to say the autobrite lance was one of my best buys.
Got it direct from them years ago when it was released first.
Used a lot, does a super job and never have any trouble.
If your interested n keeping the car swirl free it's a must. :)

I just use a clean skinny wheelie bin with one of these taps in the side of it

    Ward%20water%20butt%20Tap.jpg

then a short length of hose into my pressure washer (not a nilfisk)

Ideally the bin should be slightly elevated to get the flow of water going into the pressure washer but once its going, the PW should pull on its own.

Works great for me, barely noticable pressure difference from a normal tap and saves me dragging a hose through the house/cleanup.

That's pretty genius, to be fair. :D

Never knew I could do this, a tempting idea.
I use this pressure washer, I love it.

Got the same deal a few months back.

Nilfisk C110 and Karcher K2 coming up on Amazon Lightning deals today lads. Nilfisk will likely be £49.99 with the patio cleaner. Got it without the Patio cleaner on an Amazon deal recently for £39.99 and find it very good for the car.

Patio cleaner attachment is very handy too.

Purchased this last month, used it twice and have found the pressure very poor. It's little better than a garden hose.

Aside from switching it on and connecting the hose, is there something else that I am not doing that is causing this?

Not sure but it's far stronger than that for me. Try it with someone elses water output maybe

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,377 ✭✭✭Curran

By any chance is it pulsing every few seconds? If so its slightly air locked...and has to work its way out. It should be way stronger than a garden hose.

I think it might be, actually.

There's no way of bleeding it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,377 ✭✭✭Curran

Dont put on the heavy duty hose / gun. ..hook up the garden hose and just left the water run through it. Then hook up the gun and run it...it might be a bit spluttery but keep trying to run it...eventually it should come good.

The heavy duty hose/gun is one of the attachments I take it?

    OK, will try that. Thanks.

Sean, I would consider that good value for money! The Nilfisk machines are very strong - I've recommended them to many people and they've all be very happy. The hose reel is handy, but the big thing for me is the 8m hose...my C120 has a 5m hose, and it only reaches down one side of the car, so I have to move it slightly to reach the other side. With the 8m hose, you should be able to keep the machine in one place and reach all parts of the car. One other thing to note, is that the detergent bottle is not a snowfoam lance.

If you can manage to get someone to get it for you as a Christmas pressie :p then deffo go for it! :D Actually go for it, even if its your own hard earned! ;)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,088 ✭✭✭sean1141

Cheers mate. I need to get a new one since my old cheap B&D one started leaking inside.

That one looked the best value. As you say the longer hose would be an advantage. These are the other two I was looking at but I think for 40 odd quid more the one above is much better.

All of them are good machines, but the other 2 have 5m hoses....personally the extra on the hose would be worth it. The other machines also seem like they are slightly less quality, but Im sure they'd be capable.

To put in into perspective, if you buy one with a short hose and you start to have a pain having to move the washer frequently, then the 7m ext. hose is in the region of 50 quid. With the 8m out of the box should be plenty!

That's what I was thinking. It's also slightly more powerfull than the other two. How much would I be looking at to get a snow foam lance and decent snow foam to suit it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,377 ✭✭✭Curran

Heavy Duty snowfoam lances are available for 55 quid, and then snowfoam from about 10 quid or so! ;)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,088 ✭✭✭sean1141

Cheaper than I thought! I might pick up that pressure washer today. I take it the wash brush that is with them is best kept away from the paint work:-)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,377 ✭✭✭Curran

Jezzz if you are tempted to use it, make sure you burn it as soon as you open the box! :D
Wheels maybe, but reckon it would be useless on them, and would be a pain to swap over to it from the lance just to use it on the wheels! Avoid it! ;)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,088 ✭✭✭sean1141

I put up the wrong simile face!! Ah I will use it all right......................... On the rubber floor mats. Scrub in some apc with it ha!

So I got it anyway. I haven't used it yet as it started raining when I got home but it looks and feels very good. The only thing I don't like is the hose reel. I cant roll the hose up without disconnecting it from the washer first.

Is that a C120 or what nilfisk model is it ?

    Really...that doesnt sound right!

Looking at the picture in the link you gave for the washer....the water supply is fed in from the bottom, in through the silver fitting, located in the black section?

    100-7420449bSSUC1297793X.jpg

Isnt the connection for the high pressure hose, at the top next to the reel?
Are you sure you've hooked that up correctly? Dont have a reel on mine, but a mate does, and the high pressure hose, is connected and fed out through the middle of the reel, and then wound onto the reel....if that make sense!

The feed for the hose in on the back in the same position as the water feed, in the middle at the bottom. Its only a storage reel unfortunately
Seen a few comments on detailing world with guys having similar problems.

I guess the one your mate has is the bigger version like this?
    http://www.argos.ie/static/Product/partNumber/7420470/Trail/searchtext%3ENILFISK.htm

I used it today and I have to say it is very quiet. The lance is easy to fit as are the nozzles and detergent bottle which I must add gave a nice bit of foam from some cheap shampoo I had. The extra long hose is very handy too. I would recommend one if your in the market for a pressure washer.

Hmmm...thats a shame - my mate has an E*** model, and it definitely can be reeled with it still hooked up!
Good you hear that you are still pleased with it! ;)
