Hi all, just looked at the Argos site and found there offering €25 off a €50 spend on Lego city or Lego star wars, does anyone know if there is a catch or is this as good as it sounds!!!! Deal now changed to 25% off a €60 spend, still not bad!

I just reserved an item, and it was indeed discounted. €89.99 on Lego.com, €65 on Amazon, but €45 with this deal.

Will pick it up today over lunch.

looks fab, have reserved a few over 50 but the discount is not applied.
If I increase the cost to over 70 it seems the discounts are applied.

i am only getting €10 savings on the €52 product i am looking for.

i am looking for terms and conditions on the offer... and print screening the €25 off €50 spend line.... just in case :D

i don't think so they are quoting me €39 for a product that's €52 so the offer applies, just not to €25

Is it because its already reduced and they are taking that into the €25 savings?? Its very confusing..

I thought that but I got the full discount on the Millenium Falcon (I think I got 27 euro off)

This offer is like throwing dice :)

It is a bit random. Likely to be a system error on their part considering much of this Lego is already marked as discounted.

i'd say we are too quick on the draw for their website,

maybe go in store and try and argue your case using a: the website and b: any in store documentation.

I now have 3 items in my basket total over€50 and discount is only €15??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,270 ✭✭✭deegs

just as an aside, you also get a €5 voucher for a €50 spend (or €10 for €100 spend)in store so if you are buying a few things over €50/€100 buy separately use the vouchers and get more money off!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,270 ✭✭✭deegs

http://www.argos.ie/static/Product/partNumber/9150762.htm this is coming in with a saving of 29.25 + you get another 5euro off voucher!

This is incredibly well timed for me. My son made out his christmas list last night and it included a few lego star wars sets.

For some reason the discount doesn't seem to get applied to this one though:

Its calculating as 25% not €25 so likely a typo on argos behalf.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,270 ✭✭✭deegs

gotcha, only 15quid off though to be honest. Did you push them to get the €25 off rather that 25% off?

Its already discounted to €60.29 so the 25% off makes it €45.22

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 266 ✭✭mtdelany

bought two advent calenders (€49.98) and a small car to bring it over €50

No too pushed at 25% discount because it is 25% more expensive than Smyths

If you were going to buy a large lego toy it is a bargain but not for me

Yep, but they advertise €25 off when you spend over €50.
Ergo you should have gotten it for €35.

That would be my argument anyway. I agree, good bargin either way though.
