Stranger thing is 'that' stem is called the 'rigid' I would have thought 'flacid' would be much more apt......it also costs the guts of €500 :eek::eek: WTAF

    Isn't that the point!

Why do the brakes need guards? Surely the spokes are the danger at speed? Also why dont you have disk brakes on roadbikes?

Because an Italian guy crashed last year and cut his leg. Then blamed some other guy's discs for the nasty gash, even though the other guy wasn't using disc brakes.

But on the bright side, plastic fly swats can now get a new lease of life as disc guards :pac:

I remember this at the time but wasn't aware the other guy wasn't using disc breaks. Did they get to the bottom of it or is the injured rider still claiming it was a disc?

The Allsop softride beam. Never popular but appeared early 1990s. Used by Julian Dalbu, John Sheehan and I think Declan Loneragan. Never liked it myself.

No it doesn't! What a fawning load of bollocks that headline is. Disc brakes look ugly, clunky and stupid on road bikes. Jesus this trend is annoying...

is it just me so who finds deep section wheels are a far greater aesthetic crime than disc brakes?

Depends on how deep, anything over 50mm and I tend to agree, with 35mm being optimum
