At least according to the Journal.ie - seems from the pictures that they couldn't even spell the racist abuse they were writing on the wall of the shop properly. I'm guessing they are the same little scrotes that tend to watch the British Premier League and listen to african-american rap music, and see no irony with that they did here.

I'm ashamed to share a nationality with such people.

I've never sat down and watched a game of Soccer/Football but what does the EPL have to do with a bunch of semi-literate Spanners...

There's no such thing. There's a scottish premier league, an english premier league, a welsh premier league and a northern irish premier league that all exist independently of each other.

Perhaps you should take your own advise and get your facts straight before assuming that football fans did this.

Yeah I watch the premiership and love hiphop, never trashed no shops and painted racist abuse!!! Agree with the sentiments above though, absolute troglodytes, hope they get stung

Racism or whatever one chooses to call this type of behaviour is something that may never be stamped out.

Starving it of publicity may be as effective in helping curb it as anything. At least they wont have the satisfaction of having their actions highighted.

Don't know, what watching the EPL and listening to certain types of music has to do with such a behaviour, tbh.

It's not what you like, it's about the consequences, you have to face...and sometimes, such a behaviour is not cautioned properly.

Absolutely. At two completely ignorant generalisations contained within their statement.

three in fact. The standard of their education, their musical tastes and their sporting preferences have been commented upon without any real substantiation.

I think the OP is pointing out the possible irony of racist b@stards also having interests based in other cultures and countries.

    Maybe.

To be fair, if they are putting abuse aimed at 'niggrs' and 'pakis' on the walls of a shop owned by an Algerian I'd tend to think that the education one is pretty spot on.

One assumption is as bad or as foolish as another when it comes to judging people you know nothing about.

Perhaps you should take your own advise and get your facts straight before assuming that football fans did this.

In fairness to the OP, I don't think he was calling all football fans racist, he was making the point that the same idiots who wrote 'Niggrs out' may also watch black people week in week out playing for their favourite team and not have a problem with their skin colour in that particular instance. Same point about listening to hip hop music.

It was a point about hypocrisy, not a rant against football fans in general. At least that's how I understood it.

Of course, what I meant was is that given the available information we can glean from the article it's not really much of an assumption these guys weren't phd candidates.

I don't, just illustrating the point I think the OP was making.

    Perhaps not.

However, if you look at it from another perspective, racism or racist beliefs can exist among academics or intellectuals as well. Education or high intelligence doesnt eliminate the possibility of holding racist or prejudicial views.

I understand that. I was simply pointing out that the OP was making assumptions that could be viewed as prejudiced whilst condemning other peple for doing the same thing, albeit in a more extreme way.

But it not really 'English' either, since we have Cardiff and Swansea, who are based in Wales ;)

For all we know anyone did this. Point is they dont have to be football fans, uneducated or Jay Z fan club members to misspell racist graffiti.

    no, sadly not.

No he is being drowned by football fans because he had no reason to link it to football to begin with.

Is it too much to ask that he simply comment on the actions of the attackers and leave it at that?

Some of ye really love to really pick apart anything a poster says and completely ignore the point of the thread to begin with.

Like dark crystal pointed out, the OP isn't calling people who watch football or listen to rap music scumbags, he's laughing at the irony that most idiot racists are hypocritical gobshytes who pick and choose which fordiner stuff they like.

Anyway, back to the actual topic. It's disgusting to see a person's business destroyed by scumbag thugs, and that's all they are.

I wonder when the owner of the shop said that there was still a week's worth of cleaning up to do? It certainly would be made a lot easier if volunteers could get together and give them a hand with putting everything back together.
