Just initial thoughts on tomorrow are

    1) Dennis hogans handicap horses to keep an eye in prices at limerick..loves a limerick winner
2)ptit Zig in Auteil @ pari mutuel prices
    3) Paul hendersons horses at FFoslas I think will go well at high prices

    Mc Coy at Navan tomorrow.
Going for a treble from his rides.
    1.20 minella Foru @ 2/1
    1.50 Captain Cee bee @ 11/4
    3.25 Marlbrook @ 15/8

Minella Foru is currently 2/1 - I guarantee it will not be that price at the off tomorrow.

Two of my list of young horses to watch for the Neptune which I backed some time ago The Tullow Tank 50/1 and Very Wood 25/1 not even knowing they would be entered. This would be a huge shock to me if Minella Foru can get anywhere near Very wood. The only thing i can say is 2m will not be the game for Very Wood.Vaxalco was a huge gamble last time but ran as if something amiss and today he runs with a tongue strap for the first time, watch market 14/1 as this could be anything for Jim Culloty and Ronan Lambe.

Backed La Femme Blanche at limerick she has always hinted at winning a handicap.

Couldn't back a Dennis hogan horse for the life of me

I have 2 cue's to consider backing a hogan horse
    1) when the horse is just in at the foot of a handicap
    2) when he's in limerick or gowran
    Outside of that..never

Colin Bowes Whiskey and Red in Ffos Las 3.25 is an interesting one- can't imagine he has had many runners in the UK before..

Mark has plummeted over the summer and while his form has been poor, I can only assume a good run is expected- only 3 pound above his last winning mark and a good jockey booking with Jason Maguire on board.

Now 5/2 from 9/2 unfortunately but still tempting in what looks a poor race.

Hurricane Fly going in the first here at Limerick, would have thought a 2 time Champion Hurdle winner might be odds on but he's 11/4. Must need the run. Wonder how much JP payed for him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

    3rd! JP ruined him.

What? Hurricane fly was running in Limerick, was 11/4, and only finished 3rd.
WTF  Off to check that out.

That would have been hurricane sky :D

Topsy turvey market in the 1.20

Minella was punted all morning but Very Wood the stronger now. Not having a bet but both look really exciting prospects

At those prices, I have a small bet on king of Picts.
His jumping was neat and battled to win nnicely LTO.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

Very Wood jumping out to his right.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

Cracking ride McCoy, Davy was left to lead.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,564 ✭✭✭kiers47

Oh dear. Very Wood clearly didnt enjoy that.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,315 ✭✭✭Soft Falling Rain

McCoy helped there by erractic jumping from the leader throughout.

The front 2 in the 2m novice are very smart

Very Wood will obviously be better in a better race (on a right handed track!) his jumping only straightened up at the business end after they crawled for most of the way. He looks a big chasing type so I suppose the old "anything he does over hurdles" cliche could be invoked also

Minella Foru looked very smart first time at Listowel when he belied an alarming drift. Looks a nice one for JP to have on his side

I suspect Very Wood will turn out to be the better of the two.
    He looked very raw still.
A step up in trip / fences / the experience will all show him in a better light, I feel.

Nice any idea what the PMU was? Did you see the race ste?

I would not be rushing to back Flemenstar in any Grade 1s after that.It was not the manner in which he won but his jumping was terrible. He spent an age in the air and in a top race he will be left behind if he continues to jump like that.

Looks like Flemenstar is being aimed at the RDS Nations Cup next summer, judging by the way he jumped today......

Ya looks like around 5.1. Not to bad.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 352 ✭✭Go Native

You'd forgive him his jumping first time out due to freshness, but when you consider what Europe and SS did to Days Hotel last time out it would hardly fill you with hope for Flemenstar if you use Days Hotel as the formline.....

First run of the season though, bound to improve.

Have to say I don't understand the noseband on him???? He's never given any indication at all that he doesn't try.... Think Martin just put it on him because he's put it on a lot of his. Maybe all his horses tend to become ungenuine???

Minsk could barely jump a hurdle and is second fav for this beginners chase. If the race wasnt so poor id be mad to oppose him but cant find anything else i would be comfortable backing.
    Watch him hack up now.

The owner will probably move trainers again after that:eek:

Can't understand why he was not bowling along in front.

Only noticed Marlbrook is a non runner in this one. Minsk was pretty weak this morning before Marlbrook's withdrawal

    Boyles really are dickheads.
Only paid me 11/4. To which i went on the live chat and they give me this trash.
As per our trading department, if for any reason the tote fails to operate at a race meeting all tote bets will be settled at our starting price terms.
    What a load of trash.
It was only a ****ing tenner that i placed to watch the race.:mad:

did the same to me. Couldn't watch the race and don't get pmu. Great site.

The owner was not to blame for taking the horse from Casey. In a four horse race I would say Andy Lynch was happy just to school him.He will be ridden from the front in big races but his jumping is a huge concern. As someone posted he would be a home in the RDS and that sums it up perfectly.

Yes this is what i selected as well. Dirty bastards i will be sure to tell them that i know of someone who got paid pmu when they email me.

Just a handy 310 betfair SP winner there in Navan. Russell lost his irons and finished like a train for third. Definitely the 1 to take from the race.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,340 ✭✭✭sting60

As was pointed out in another post Vexalco is a serious horse and backed him at sp would have been a nice touch but thats racing.

Only 11/4. This is the bull the lady on the chat rattled off "As per our trading department, if for any reason the tote fails to operate at a race meeting all tote bets will be settled at our starting price terms."

To which i asked what did it mean considering that it is clear that the tote was operating. To which she had no answer and told me that support would be in touch with me by email.

Did you back by phone? I noticed that when I tried to book by phone and selected div it jumped back to the avaikable odds price so I backed on laptop instead

I did it on a tablet app. That could be the issue perhaps?? Anyway i have logged an issue so will see what comes of it.

What the hell does she even mean by this?

Ask them politely, but firmly, where their T&Cs state this. Also as you stated there obviously was a Tote, the French version
