Rankings: now and by mid-way

Just wondering where in the overall rankings people are currently sitting and where do you want to be mid-way through the season or reckon is good enough to put you in position to finish the season on a high considering the poor start i know a lot of us had to the season?

I'm currently sitting just around 230k overall:o having clawed my way up from 1.5mil over the last 4 weeks but would ideally like to be in the top 75k - 50k region heading into gameweek 20

I'm at 214,363. Would hope to be at least in the top 20k by halfway.

Xmas is when I usually make a jump.

I've never been that high in the rankings mid-way or at the end haha! Although i have improved every year that i've played now!

I'm currently 284,000, that is 50 points behind 30,000. I'd hope to be up around 100k by Christmas, maybe a bit better afterwards.

I always start slow (although not as slow as this season!) Christmas is where things tend to start to go against the under prepared casuals top 250k at the end of January is a decent position to be in if you have your WC still.

Ok, I'll be the first really crap position to post:
I've been lingering around the 500k mark for the last 3-4 weeks.

I was inside the top 50k for the first 3 weeks but had a disaster of a run for the next 5. Starting to improve a bit over the last 2 but it's still fairly depressing.

Where do I want to finish? One point ahead of my mates in the pay league, but that's a big big task at present, one is on 622 points (Top 12k) and the other 606 (Top 30k)

I'm at 402k now having been 880k two gameweeks ago. Not having the likes of Ramsey, Yaya or Oscar grabbing the points from midfield along with a few defensive headaches with Vidic and Hangeland not being a Saint or Spur is what has cost me.

If I keep seeing progress and green arrows no matter how big or small up until the end of Xmas I'll be happy. To put a figure on it maybe inside the top 100k but I just want to keep plugging away and simply pull myself out of the mire and be ready to launch up the table come the new year. If I do that the rise in rankings should follow, hopefully :pac:

This forum can only help... i've dipped in and out of a few others and without being biased i really think there are better players here then on other sites, mainly due to the sheer size of some of the other forums you just get every bloke throwing his 2 cents in so it's hard to find the actual useful stuff where as there are some seriously good players of the game here who post regularly whose advice i always take on board and so far as I said i've improved every year!

I'm 900k I probbaly should have mentioned that!!

Last season the highest my overall rank went was 150k and I only had 8 1m+ GW ranks all season and i've already had 8 this season! You can easily make up a lot of ground in a short period of time last season I know someone went from 250k after GW15 to finish top 400 there is still hope of a truly class finish!!

Well said, I have had teams in for the last numerous of years, but I was very much a casual, I never gave it much thought to be honest.

This forum has been great, but the one thing negative about my switch from casual to taking more interest...and this is my fault...is that I've really got a bit too caught up on Price Changes.

I've taken 7 hits (28 points) this year, only a few of them were really necessary... the rest were chasing money.
That may help in the second half of the season but I'd take the points over cash now.

I've taken 28 points in hits too but as i said in another thread one week i took a 12 point hit to sort my team out after making shite of my squad with my wildcard :rolleyes: I scored nearly 80 that week too so didn't feel bad! Some of my hits have worked other haven't, but as a general rule of thumb i would never take more then a 4 point hit a week, sometimes it works out sometimes it doesn't but if it's bringing in a player who i want in the long run then that's how i justify it!

I'm between 600-700k, was outside top 2million after the first few weeks so glad to be creeping back up.

Going to get nowhere near where I finished last year so top 100k is probably the goal. Top 250k by halfway please

Even with a 7 digit rank now a top 20k finish really isn't that hard its still early days. I don't expect to finish outside the top 10k really after Christmas is where it really matters.

130k at the moment which Im happy with considering I havent had ramsey or Yaya. I think there has been a points hit frenzy on here which Ive taken part in but Im no longer going to chase team value and am going to try lay off the point hits. Its worked well this week for me as I still havent got rid of michu but two of my prime targets silva and hazard have doubts over them. Happy to make this decision friday when I get the team news. By midway Id hope to be up around 80k should put me in a good position to push on.

156,956 at the moment, and would like to be in top 100k by Christmas. From the New Year on who knows - would definitely like to beat last year's 68,614.

Yeh the scoring is really high so far seems you need a 65+ GW to even think about getting a green arrow if you are ranked decently.

132,968 taken a total of 16 points in hits. I'm at the stage now where the team shouldn't need points hits to press on. Enough in the bank now to get anyone else needed. Aiming for 50,000 by halfway.

At the 55k mark, happy enough.

Getting Lukaku, Suarez, Aguero, Boruc and Lovren in at the right time helped.

Been 5 weeks of steady progress which hopefully continues.

Still have Eriksen on my bench munching away at profits but relatively happy with my team other than him.

I'm at 44,000 overall, so I'm pretty chuffed with that.

Last year was my first year and I made a few dopey mistakes and tried to predict what was gonna happen. I'm playing it safe at the minute!

Yeh the reality of this game is that you have to play it as boring as possible being a maverick is not the way to go.

A bit of luck goes a long way too. Last year, I spend sooooo many points on transfers I hoped would work out but didn't. This year, I'm playing it safe. Course bringing in and captaining Aguero last week springboarded me up about 100,000 places, so I can't imagine I'll be in the top 50k for too much longer.

I'm currently at 25,372. Happy enough with that at the moment but I still hope to improve.
No matter how well I'm doing I'm still always cursing bad captaincy decisions and other 'what might have been' decisions!

Its more boring but it is the best way to approach the game. People tend to only remember the times they took a hit and it worked (only time I can remember taking a hit before this season was when I brought in the Yak and he scored 4!).

Yeh I like to have a few random picks too I have had Ravel all season! I was going to bring in Arnie this week too but have taken a bit of a wild one on De Guzman! Up front I have Aguero, Lukaku and Suarez so happy to have a bit of a gamble in midfield not like the midfield has given us many points so far!

1.2 million, a disaster of a season so far!

Although after GW 12 of last season I was ranked 1.2 million as well and ended up finishing 42431. Plenty of time to improve!

I must say the captain polls here every week are great at giving an insight into what other managers are thinking. Great to hear about it from a different persons perspective

Hold your wild card for the snow enforced DGWs later in the season thats normally the best way to take advantage of still having it. This season more than normal have used theirs already so it should give you a real jump up the rankings if you can play it well.

93k overall. Was 1.1m after GW1 and have had green arrows every week bar one since.

Played my wildcard at gw3 which was a disaster. Have been cleaning up the mess since, and with 4 points hits (i.e 16 points) I've only finally come to a team I'm happy(ish) with this week. Like many, no ramsey, yaya and to a lesser extent oscar has been a killer.

Finished 8k last year (been playing since 08 but last year was first proper year) so would hope to improve on that this year. Hoping to be inside top 20k after xmas. Looking limit points hits as much as possible.

Pretty happy with that. I was in the top 6k at the end last year and i'll be delighted if i can get anywhere near that again this year.
Any climb by half -way'd be good! Hopefully, i'll get into the top 30,000 by christmas.

At an abysmal 940, 000 ... Bad captain choices and injuries over the last 2 weeks have seen me drop like a stone!

First ever season at this craic and currently 185k. I was inside 70k after two weeks and thought this was the best game ever, few weeks of pain and I was as low as 500k so happy to be where I am now esp as I've had a few silly hits and few dopey captain choices from inexperience.....Ben Arfa in week 5! What was I thinking.

The reason I'm doing this is I signed up for a pay league so I'd love to have a decent crack at winning it, hence not doing it by halves, but top spot at present is inside top 13k! Top 10 in the pay league maybe, no idea overall.

Find this forum great, and I'm not an Internet forum person. Looked around a number of forums and FPL sites initially but this is the only place I bother with now. Even have the impertinence to give advice the odd time!!

I'm at 25k. I was at 286k after GW7 but scores of 72, 90 and 72 the last 3 weeks have catapulted me up the rankings - I guess that goes to show what a difference getting a couple of key decisions right can make. Getting in Ramsey with my GW3 wildcard just before he caught fire and captaining Aguero last week were two huge decisions that paid off.

On the flip side I haven't had a defender score a goal yet, I stuck with Michu until last Sunday night, and I had Benteke, Hernandez, Collins, Coutinho, Brady, Chester in my team when they got injured.

Just the one points hit taken so far - an 8-pointer for GW7, which resulted in a disastrous 29 points that week but it cleared out some deadwood and got in Ozil, Dawson and Suarez so it paid off in the following weeks.

I'd be very happy to be in the same position after the Christmas period - maybe push on towards top 15k with a bit of luck.

436th, got my team right from the word go, had Sturridge, Giroud, Soldado and Coleman at start with Boruc in goals. Getting the captain right so far with Lukaku, Suarez and Aguero all scoring hattricks makes it better.

Only mistakes to date were Miralles at start and Vidic and Michu in for last few weeks, when I used my WC kept Walcott instead of Ozil as I thought Theo would go goal crazy, some decisions work others dont

I think I was about the 92k mark last I looked. I was disappointed with my start to this season but things have picked up the last few weeks.

I don't have an overall ranking target but points wise I like to score at least over the fifty pts mark each week.

Seems we are quite a mixed bunch going by what I've seen so far... kind of makes me feel alright about where i am now as i was beginning to worry after the start i had that i was going to be left behind!

I have one mate in particular who is a bellend and a pants manager who i usually hammer in this game but is 40 points ahead of me and i can't stand it! He's been lucky with Yaya and having Ramsey from the start and he got his captain picks right for a few big scores too but he has made every move i have the week after me now that he's ahead leaving me with no way to catch up the shit!:mad:

I'm looking at his squad though and kind of quietly thinking he will fall to pieces over the xmas run
