No sugar, no calories? Can it work against you losing weight

Does it not fool Your body into thinking it's getting sugar, hence giving you a craving for carbohydrates ? In other words it makes you hungry,

you can't go far wrong with fizzy water instead.

You mean sparkling water? I can't drink that straight, very weird taste from it.

I can push myself through feeling hungry sure. :)

Dropped a good bit of weight recently and drank it regularly during the process more as a treat than anything else. It didn't noticeably work against my weight loss, but I'd guess the less artificial stuff you take in the better you'll feel. Water will also act to detox you whereas fizzy drinks won't do that.

Stick to water. As Bigus said, the aspartame which is used to replace sugar just makes you crave more food. Why deal with being hungry? :P If you can't stomach sparkling water (I can't either) try squeezing some lemon and lime into it. Tastes much nicer, is more refreshing and is full of antioxidants. I drink it during the day, and lemon/lime with plain hot water first thing in the morning, I find it helps my energy levels pick up

  • Was a diet coke addict. Been clean eating for the last few wks now and sparkling water with ice , slices of limes and lemons really hit the spot

No it doesn't. Your body reacts to glucose chemically, it's body isn't tricked thinking you had glucose because it was sweet.

If it did it would cause havoc for diabetics, but it doesn't.

There's no calories it won't affect weight loss. And if the only issue with your diet is coke zero then you doing alright.

well...fizzy drinks are one of those things that you wouldn't think about when dieting (if you're a noob) so cutting them out can only help!
