Tough times hope you find the right nutrition plan that helps.

I would recommend to read 'wheat belly' as a good starting point and in general avoid processed foods as much as possible. Do some research on mastic gum and glutamine.

Seen several cases of positive results from the above.

As with such a condition also consult your doctor in advance of trying anything.

Hi I'm so glad I saw this post because I think I can help! My bf had very severe problems with UC about 10 years ago before I even knew him, he was put on a drug called infliximab and hasn't had problems with UC since thank god.

But bf had and still has an unhealthy diet, I on the other hand am I complete health freak and came across this guy who treated UC with diet alone, you have probably heard of the "paleo" diet. Some other good sites for the paleo diet are:

    nom nom paleo
    marks daily apple
underground wellness (check out the podcasts especially)
    chris kresser
    The perfect health diet

The drug that my bf had to go on is an injection that has many adverse side effects, so if the diet approach works for you I'm sure you would be better off. If you have any more questions just say, I can ask my bf for you!

Also if you do decide to go gluten free you should definitely listen to this podcast which goes through all the hidden ways that gluten can get into your diet. I cut gluten out of my diet and the most difficult thing is all the hidden source of it.
