What do you want?

What do you want from this life? I am not asking you to tell us all your dreams - ain't nobody got time for that - but what you want in your secret heart of hearts. Not what you've convinced yourself you want or what you think you should want but what you really really want outside of world peace and equality for all of course.

I'll start. I don't know. To know what love is most likely. I am not sure I do.

This is off topic: A LAAAAAARGE preying mantis just came out of nowhere (from behind the curtains) and landed on my floor. I didn't know what to do so I threw one of my blankets over it. I think it is dying now - suffocating to death. I feel terrible and I don't want to murder it but I can't have it flying about either. What are my options? :(

I'll tell you what I don't want. I don't want to go through my life doing the usual 9 to 5, come home and wake up and do it all again. I don't want to go through the process of life like that.

But so far in life, that is what I'm doing.

    If Praying Mantis has crawled into your space;
Usually the Praying Mantis makes an appearance when we’ve flooded our lives with so much business, activity, or chaos that we can no longer hear the still small voice within us. Taking a step back and some simple meditation would be in order here because the external din we’ve created needs to be quieted so that we can come back to our own truth. The Praying Mantis always comes to us when we need peace, quiet and calm in our lives.
take from it what you will.
I'll tell you what I want after a few beers :)

It survived! :) I think the lack of air calmed it down a little so I was able to throw a shirt over it and transport it to another room where I chucked it and locked the door. The window has a fly net so I couldn't chuck it through there...I don't know how it came in. Thanks.

For some reason my mind translated 'used plastic bag' to used condom. Why would anyone throw used condoms through your window? Are they trying to tell you something? Are you trying to tell us something?

Unfortunately it's not available online. But when I was about 22 I read the obituary of Robert Muller in The Independent, and I thought 'jesus, that's what I want my obit to say'.

This wiki article doesn't do him any justice. The man was nominated 23 times for nobel prizes, which must be some kind of record.

He was categorically turned down because his visions were way before their time. But he knew how to see into the future. He knew that he should not be dissuaded just because some of his visions seemed really nuts - for example, the first summit for climate change. People genuinely believed he had mental issues.

Visionary ideas sound crazy at first because they are so far beyond our current thinking. That's the point. They wouldn't be visionary if it didn't challenge our idea of what reality is or should be.

I would not be so egotistical as to believe I have revolutionary ideas, but they probably are wacky, and that is a good beginning.

To be happy and be anxiety free, or at least reduce it to a liveable level.

To not end up as a bitter and alone old man, like will probably happen.

it's really really big, gets very very cold in the winter, can get very hot and muggy in the summers, sometimes small children are carried off by mosquitos, they like beer, bacon and kraft dinner macaroni and cheese.

they don't like it much when you call them americans or imply they should be the 51st state
