    Hey all....

Im a crap sleeper at the best of times, but it seems to be made worse when i do exercise in the evenings.

I probably could do my swim in the morning before work, but the whole point is to give me something to do in these long dark winter evenings

Its not even that late...id be out by about 6:30/7pm, and id hav to have some sort of meal or snack cos id be ravenous.

But then id be kinda wired all evening, and have found myself wide awake till about 2/3 am....

    Any suggestions?

    Hi fincollins,

It is always better to do your workout in the morning for sure especially if you have problems to sleep. In some cases sleeping problems could be lack of calcium. To make our body to absorb calcium must be taken in conjunction with magnesium and vitamin D. We also lose calcium when when we do physical activity... Hope my post will help you!

    Epsom salts bath.

Old wives tale that actually works.

    cheers for the replies!!

yeah i must stop the laptop in bed thing too! i think a lot of it is boiling down to when i eat. if i hav something straight after the swim then its usually all digested and im right as rain come bed time...but if i hav to face into cooking something afterwards then i usually wouldnt be sitting down eating till 8/8:30. thats probably the root of the problem!!

    many thanks :)

    Magic magnesium :)

...which leads to parasympathetic nervous stimulation.

...which is the calming ying to your excited sympathetic yang.

...which can be made worse with late night exercise, stimulants, artificial light, electronic devices and other kinds of electromagnetic radiation!!

When you do turn off the laptop - you need to give your head a chance to quieten down, internetting isn't a way to relax your head.

The bedroom should be a computer- / laptop- / tv-free room.
