Juicer - leftover 'mulch'

So we got a new juicer and tonight I made some pineapple, raspberry & orange juice. Juice is delish but when cleaning the juicer afterwards there is a lot of leftover 'mulch'.... I had a spoonful and it's not the nicest texture to be eating.

So, any tips on how to use this?... I'm thinking I might try freezing it and it might be like some kind of fro-yo. I'm assuming this part of the fruit is still nutritious???

That's one seriously sweet juice your making. Nature has a great way of balancing things out and what your throwing out is the fiber which goes some way to negating the high suger (fructose) content of the fruit.

Why not eat the fruit you listed mixed up with some Greek yogurt and mixed nuts?

It's not too sweet - the raspberries and orange were a little bitter so the pineapple sweetness wasn't overpowering!

The point is that by juicing you are concentrating the sugar and leaving behind the fibre. Just eat the fruit.

    Yup this ^^^

Adding the raspberries is such a waste, blend them in after from frozen ftw.

Throw in come celery, cucumber or at least carrot

I think some people put the pulp back through the juicer, or use it in soups. I have to admit I haven't tried either option.

I also think it can be used to make some sort of veggie burger, but don't quote me on that!

Jason Vale, the juice guy uses some of it in a soup recipe. But that would presumably be from the vegetables. It does seem like a terrible waste though to throw it out.

Could you compost it in your garden, if you didn't want to eat it? I would recommend doing so as soon as possible after juicing though, otherwise those pesky little fruit flies will end up hanging around your bin all the time :( I speak from experience!

the entire point of juicing is to give your digestive system a break so it doesnt have to work to break down the e.g. veggies and fruit, so eating the fibre part seems like confusing why you are doing it in the first place and just eat the fruit/veg.

    Throw it out.
