McCoy is now only 9 short of a remarkable career total after a double today at Ffos Las

This is without a doubt my favourite McCoy ride. An absolute master class combined with his typical determination and sheer will to win

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

My own that I saw is Chetlers 2009 and Wichita Lineman in the William Hill Trophy

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 18,335 ✭✭✭✭UrbanSea

My favourite is the one where he got a lift back in the jeep after he'd fallen and then the rest of them fell so he remounted and won

My favourite McCoy ride is when he won on our horse. Ah boy McCoy. If it wasn't for us he would need 9 more winners.

My favourite one is the one that was being plotted for a handicap for Jp,too many to name :pac: That one at Warwick one day was sick Folie a deux or something.

I think that still is the record for the fastest Champion Chase also.

My own has to be Wichita Lineman in the William Hill, because I backed him and was cursing at the television as the came down the far side with 5 furlongs to go with AP already going hands and heels as if he was riding some donkey to a finish in Southwell.

7 to go, odds on winner Wincanton.

I'd love one of the reporters interviewing him to have the balls to ask

"how many winners do you think you'd be on now if you had of tried on all JP's horses"

Another one down, Captain Cutter wins at 4/11

3 more to go and he has one more fancied ride for Jonjo today

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,657 ✭✭✭brandon_flowers

And another in at 11/10. 2 to go

Good book at Exeter tomorrow also, should do the business there

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

If McCoy wins the opener and he has a good chance, his attempt at the 4000th will be on a 16/1 shot. Hmmmm! :p

Video 'blocked in your country'. What's that all about??

that famous race where every horse fell, and McCoy remounted Family Business and won.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,241 ✭✭✭✭thesandeman

Ah yeah I know that. Just wondering why it won't let me watch it. Thanks anyway.

Are you watching from outside Ireland or from work?

Not watching it at all cos it won't let me lol. Na, just at home in Galway. Everything else works fine. Strange. I'll try again tomorrow.

    Nobody considers Galway Ireland.

Only some videos get blocked by country depending on the uploader, if your servers are in UK or elsewhere it wont work. You can get software to change your IP which gets around gets problem

    McCoy Chepstow mount withdrawn

Can't get to 4,000 today unless he picks up a few spares

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,669 ✭✭✭Colonel Sanders

I think I read that Gordon Richards record is 4,870

McCoy would probably need another 4-5 seasons after this one to get to that figure. He's a remarkable man however so I wouldn't discount the possibility!!!

Hills quoted him 5/1 to ride 5,000+, thing is that probably means he'd be 1/10 or 1/12 not to

Gordon Richards was a flat jockey so the risk of getting injured wasn't as likely as it was for McCoy.
But then McCoy is able to use modern technology and fly between racecourses and get to more meetings than Gordon Richards could.

Both amazing men. Great to be able to say we saw McCoy in our lifetime.

    Nice lift from wikipedia...

Richards was riding for 34 years and McCoy is only riding 21 years plus he was stable jockey for Fred Darling so had better horses than Mc Coy.

No more fitting way for McCoy to get the 4,000 up. Amazing ride. I was on the runner up but cannot begrudge the man after another brilliant performance!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,122 ✭✭✭Starscream25

That was a great run alright, thought the last fence caught him out but fair play to him

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,866 ✭✭✭Panrich

Even though I was on the runner up, it was great to see how he did that. A fitting way to bring up the milestone.
