    Went into Woodys over the weekend to buy something and they had a huge Christmas display, playing Christmas music. Came out humming 'Good King Wenceslas'.

    I love Christmas though, so I rather enjoyed seeing it all :o

    Penneys have had a whole lotta chrismas themed jumpers for a few weeks now.

    I remember when I was a kid and I wanted some toy and my mother said "But sher christmas is only 8 weeks away", and I replied "Thats Aaaages!". Now it goes within a blink of an eye.

    Christmas coming earlier and earlier and lasting longer each year usually means people spending more money on it each year. Awfully cynical stuff but whatever marketing big wig who came up with is clearly doing their job well.

    I don't think any Marketing big wig came up with it to be honest. They simply meet consumer demand.

    I love Christmas! A beautifully cooked goose, a ridiculous jumper, an eye-opener of scotch for breakfast, a large piece of plum pudding, the sounds of laughter and frivolity.

    The only thing I don't enjoy about Christmas is the work party. This follows a deep misunderstanding last year where my celebratory nature, high jinks and suggestive innuendo were taken up completely the wrong way by a hatch-faced old harridan.

    I'm sure the shops jumped all over their customers looking for more and more Christmas but they had to react to the demand, they simply wouldn't risk buying in a load of stock without knowing people would buy it.
