Have a read of this, you should ignore every tabloid weather story like the plague, especially from the Express.

Once again it is the season for speculation and big headlines regarding what the weather will do over the winter period. The front page of the Daily Express (Saturday 12th October) claims: ‘Worst winter for decades: Record-breaking snow predicted for November’.

We saw similar headlines last year and instead winter 12/13 ended up being only the 43rd coldest on record with an average temperature of 3.3C and flooding until the turn of the year.

Could that not mean though that December/January/February could be 1°c below the average for this time of the year? Doesn't necessary mean that we are in for an Ice Age. I could be looking at this completely wrong though;)

James Madden (apt surname) of 'Exacta Weather' has been forecasting widespread snowfall for the UK all this week for yesterday and today, and then found justification for this by showing BBC weather map forecast showing a total whiteout... over the highest peaks of Scotland :rolleyes:


If this is the measure he is using to justify his far-out winter forecast for this year, then likely he will be proved right...

The shear neck of some people never ceases to amaze me..
