how long before Berlin marathon announces the lottery results?
If I don't get into that, I might do another autumn marathon, maybe something closer to home. Anyone any ideas?

Heard of one allright - think it's the BAC - Not sure if you'll find anything around here on it though - no elites or anything.

No you might not hear the coastgurads warnings if you are about to bump into another ship.

We could talk about the weather alright - about to get very windy.
Or we could talk about Blanca Vlasic - she was in Ireland last week apparently, Carlow of all places.

Or you might not get out of the way in time if the lifeboat is on a rescue.

I think you should buy some food the night before the marathon. Wouldn't be good to do it starving (enduro might disagree with that though).

There's some great seafood eateries around Howth.

But not sure if the fishing boats will be able to dock given "Hurricane Krusty" which is predicted to make landfall in Dublin at 9am on Monday.

I'm running a cross country race on Sunday, I've a feeling it going to be a mud bath after all the rain. Is it weird that I want it to be a mud bath?

    Of course not.
Its cross country, the muddier the better.

It has been most un-cross country like weather recently, it's true. Calm days, dry underfoot, bit of sun, bit of rain - more suited to long distance road events really...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,523 ✭✭✭spurscormac

Let's bring the distance down a bit - there's a 5k in Galway on Halloween night.
No need for a 3 hour long run to train for it.

Yup it's been weird, I got sunburnt at Star of the Sea this year! That is unnatural.

excuse me!!!!!!! I've never been so insulted in my life. I was a middle distance runner who would occasionally whooooooop a few sprinters when I was feeling a bit lazy and wanted to show off my balls in a bit of lycra :)

AAI just posted national fixture list.
Includes a national indoor club league, one date in jan, one in feb and final in march. Anyone know anything about this?

I'm mostly staying away from this forum these days as there is too much jogging chat - still waiting for the thread about how to pin your gels inside your shorts or have I missed it.

Like yourself pconn I am down for a XC race this weekend - my once a year outing in the muck before I head for the indoor comfort of Athlone. I fully expect it to be wet and cold, I'll hate every minute of it and promise never to do it again until next year.

@notsofast - that fixture list has been out there for over a month but I have not seen any details of the indoor club league. Sounds like a good idea if its a scaled down version of the National league over 2 weekends in the lead-up to the National Indoors.

Breaking Bad or Love/Hate? Until recently I would have said neither but I recently find myself getting dragged into Nidge's activities of a Sunday night.

BTW isn't great the Airtricity Sponsored Charity Jog is not on TV this year?

I passed some fella called Bressie and some model yesterday who are a celeb couple by all accounts. This is according to folk on the street who were stopped at the traffic lights. My life is so much better since.

What colour laces is everyone wearing on Monday? I'm so torn between highviz yellow and highviz orange I don't know what to do.

Some nest of DCM threads here all of a sudden :) Personally I'll be hiking up Mweelrea & Croagh Patrick next weekend, too bad it looks like it will be lashing rain.

How about this finish from the Dresden marathon last Sunday, the finish was through a tunnel of cheering kids with poms-poms!
