Big game tonight in the Veltins Arena over in Gelsenkirchen.

A win for Schalke and its 9pts from 9, Chelsea will be hoping for all 3 points but will have one eye on the Steaua v Basle game as a Basle victory and Chelsea dropping points will see Basle leap frog in to 2nd.

Schalke are missing Marco Hoger, Jefferson Farfan, Jermaine Jones, Sead Kolasinac, Kyriakos Papadopoulos and Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.

Chelsea have travelled without Ashley Cole and Marco Van Ginkel is out for the foreseeable future, Schurrle and Torres are both fit with the latter playing a aprt in the Cardiff victory on Saturday.

Going for a 2-0 Chelsea win team to line out as

    Cech
    Ivanovic Luiz Jt Bertrand
    Lamps Ramires
    Hazard Oscar Schurrle
    Torres

    +1.

He needs to add goals to his Chelsea career, every other part of his game is good thus far.

He will enjoy the chance to do it against his fellow countrymen too.
Can't wait for the game tonight, pity it clashes with Dortmund V Arsenal though.

Anyone remember what happened last time we played in Germany.......?

Memory seems a bit blurry, although I do seem to remember waking up with the mother of all overhangs the next morning.

Theyre missing a few so that's helped our cause no end, we've managed to make 5 changes though and our team looks even stronger then the one that started at the weekend.

Hazard makes difficult turns and movement look very easy, such an elegant player.

    Edit That god for Cech

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

Even though he was offside that was a good save.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,025 ✭✭✭smallerthanyou

Be good to get in ahead alright. Need it to break the momentum building for Schalke.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

Schalke really stepped it up in the last 10 minutes, we looked comfortable until then.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

Fortunate to go in 1-0 up Torres has been a statue since his goal and his build up play has been poor, no support for him either.
