It would probably have to be one of the Arsenal squad, I'm guessing.

Sturridge has scored a goal in 8 of 9 gameweeks. That's like, RVP-like.

Ozil. And I am not 2nd guessing myself this time.

It's either Ozil or Suarez. Not sure yet.

Had been pretty sure about captaining Suarez until last night. If Fulham can do that to Palace, they could be in for a serious rodgering from Arsenal. So I'm now considering Giroud or Ozil.

Exactly the same. At 745 last night, it was 100% Suarez.

    Giroud for me.

Flip-flopping between Ozil and RVP, same as last week (where a coin flip led me to captain Ozil)

I would say right now that Ozil is more likely but RVP is in scoring form too

Ozil all the way, even if he doesn't score,he's an assist machine.Imagine Arsenal scoring 4 and somebody like Wilshere getting 3 with Giroud hitting everything bar the back of the net.
Just look at Swansea the other day, scored 4 & Michu not involved in any.

Same team picked Sunday evening. Suarez captained. Giroud VC. Said that was it I would not look at it again ........but now........hhhhmmmmm

Like two or three here and I'm sure a lot more; Suarez or Ozil for me, maybe even Giroud/Sturridge?! Decisions...

If Wegner decides after last night that CP are even more of a soft touch that he thought and decides to rest Ozil... I'd imagine he'll take no risks and play at full strength to push on at the top but sure we'll see.

Thinking Ozil myself... but Suarez @ home to West Brom, RVP and Rooney @ home to Stoke and at a push Remy away @ Sunderland have all given food for thought...

I wonder, he obviously felt Ramsey would benefit from a rest last week, he had to play 65 minutes for a finish, will play again tonight, Wenger could well look to mix it up a little again on Saturday, a lot may depend on whether Wilshere plays in Europe, if so he will likely be "rested" at the weekend, I don't think Ozil is bulletproof either as Cazorla can play in that position, Wenger will have to back some of his second choicers against the likes of Palace if he and they are to keep up challenges on a number of fronts, schedule isn't that hectic yet though.

Having Giroud, Lukuka, and Sturridge in my squad, I think I'll give it to Ramsey again.

Even when he's being rested he's on fire.

Despite the Arsenal temptation, sticking to my guns and going with Suarez as planned when brought in a few weeks back.

Its probably gonna be my last week before I ditch RVP so **** it lets hope he gives me a dilemma with the armband this GW!

Are you sure? He could have a quiet day this week. Like he did this evening against Dortmund :D

There's a big difference between Dortmund and Palace!

Tempted by Michu, he has to start scoring again at some stage.

I don't think I can ever forgive that moment around 5 o clock last Saturday when I checked my phone to see Swansea had scored 4 and then checked the FPL match stats, he was my captain but he'll have a long wait before he gets that honour again.

I'd much rather pick Michu AFTER he has a good week and is beginning to find form again, especially when there are so many other consistently performing players out there at the moment.

    Feck off.

Golden rule is you pick a form player rather than someone who you think should find it sooner or later.

I can't understand why Michu hasn't come close to last season. Still going to give him a last chance against West Ham.

He's scored 5 in 11 games, it's just that most of them were in Europa league. That's pretty much the same ratio as last season.

It's a good thing United arent performing or Rooney/RVP would make it an even tougher choice . Thinking Suarez This week . Had Ozil last week as captain and Giroud VC . Giroud will find goals again soon in the league so he is a close second for captain

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 48,351 ✭✭✭✭km79

Rooney is flying so far tonight.....hhhhmmmmm

Would like to risk it on Ramsey but I really think he'll be rested. Gonna go with Giroud...

Looks back to his Best BUT did not score from 3 good chances .......when he does get one he will go on a run of goals ......

Will the change of manager at palace sway anyone away from picking an arsenal player this week ? :)

No. Palace are a Championship side minus their best 2 Championship players from last season.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,600 ✭✭✭roryc

I'm hoping he rests Ramsey and Giroud, and Ozil goes nuts.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 175 ✭✭yozico

Palace are brutal and just lost their manager, Arsenal are top of the league and playing like a team that should be there. There's only one possible result........

    .......Palace 1 - 0 Arsenal :D

I am going Michu aka Other in the Poll :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,094 ✭✭✭SpaceCowb0y

Said Suarez in the poll but could yet switch it to Ozil!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,600 ✭✭✭roryc

I have Ozil captained but will accept a clean sheet over anything else. Otherwise Mertesacker will have been a total flop. Can't understand Arsenal, they had a decent defence last year. Clean sheet in their first 3 PL games if I remember correctly, and 14 clean sheets over the year, more than one in every three games. Just one clean sheet in 8 this year, although bar the first game of the season it's always just one goal.

Ozil is leading the FFS poll on 31%. Closest behind is Suarez with 20% and then Giroud has 16%. Then there's a massive fall to Sturridge with 6%.

The one thing holding me back from Ozil is the chance of Wenger resting players. Cazorla could slot in and play in Ozil's position to give him a rest. Some of the Arsenal players looked dead on their feet on Tuesday night.

I might just buck my trend of going with the FFS poll and go for Suarez. He's had a nice long week's rest.

Remember the last time Liverpool played Wba and everyone was expecting them to hammer them it finished Liverpool 0-2 Wba .

Course I do. Gerrard missed a pen :D

Then in Liverpool's next game of that DGW I had Enrique, Suarez and Sturridge and they were rampant against Swansea. I finished on 127 or something for the week.

I read today that Liverpool have lost their last 3 league games against WBA. Now I know that's not necessarily relevant to the present but still another niggling concern over picking Suarez all the same

Don't remind me :( it was my very first Liverpool game! Gerrard missed a peno, Shelvey had a disallowed goal, Foster was unbeatable and Luakaku raped us :( he started as a sub in that game mind you!

Think I'm gonna go with Ozil. He's the second most expensive player in my team playing Crystal Palace, surely he has to come good. Surely?!

Suarez or Giroud for me, Giroud has been very unlucky the last couple of games to not score. Michu is looking in good form though and playing a West Ham team that traditionally doesn't travel well, makes him more than tempting.

Michu seems to be only banging them in in the Europa League though, 4-0 last week and not a sniff. I'd stick with Suarez/Giroud. Suarez at home, Giroud against a manager-less poor Crystal Palace Team and there's the off chance that West Ham will do to Swansea what they did away to Tottenham 3 weeks ago.

Yeah I probably will end up putting the armband on Suarez or Giroud, more a stray observation but I know Michu will produce the goods soon.

I will stick with Suarez for another week. . . although I have this feeling that we might demolish Crystal Palace. . .

I've decided to go with Ozil. Suarez is tempting but WBA beat United away, gave Arsenal a tough game and are no push overs.

This one could be another Saints 1 Liverpool 0 type result.

The introduction of Bony to Swansea also means that Michu is no longer the lone wolf and will be playing deeper when both are on the pitch. He definitely isn't the fantasy football rampage machine that he was last year!

Bony was shocking last night with Michu the only player in attack that looked capable of doing anything so won't be surprised to see Michu lead the line and grab a goal or 2 at the weekend.

Michu's best position though is behind the striker IMO. Last year his best games were often when he played off Graham. As diabolical as Graham is, he was actually fairly decent at making runs which freed up space for the midfielders to run into.

I haven't seen much of Swansea this year but Bony doesn't seem to be doing that to the same effect.
