It's back!!!!!! and no more annoying international breaks now until 2014......the games will be coming thick and fast from now on.

could be a very high scoring week with a lot of the top teams playing against weaker lower opposition, chelsea play cardiff, arsenal play norwich, everton play hull, liverpool play newcastle and southampton play man united :D

i seem to have a bit of an inbalance to my team because i have a lot of players at home this week, i struggled on who to becnh from my front 8 but eventually decided on moses, could be costly with him at newcastle but the rest all had good home fixtures (apart from suarez who is away but not a hope of benching him)

    What a mare!

After the last few weeks I have a healthy dose of fear, although as always a healthy dose of optimism mixed in.

    Great to have it back

If captain Giroud can do the business, I'm confident I'll be top of most of my leagues by the end of the gameweek.

18 point haul, Olivier, ye big ride!

i'd take losing out on my coleman cs for lukaku having a quiet day. i'm fearful of the damage he could do, and a lot will have him captained. i don't have him at all.

    start Januzaj, or Eriksen?

RVP Doubtful - aaaaghh. My wildcard is active for another 50 mins & I'd decided to keep him.

Rooney is in better form anyway. I'd go for him and save the dosh. Or... the Beast (Benteke) is back this weekend if you fancy yourself a differential

Hopefully a goal or 2 for Januzaj to celebrate his new contract

Hmmm i wonder is that a good thing in terms of him scoring well today or not. Have him first sub atm, playing Eriksen (away to Villa) instead!

The drama in Prodston towers this morning is whether to bench Turner for the first time this season or not, his competition is Kos (or Hangeland :pac: not a chance ).

    I'm damned if I do and I'm damned if I don't :(

Have Remy, Suarez & Sturridge up front so hoping for a goalfest today. Still not sure on Suarez or Sturridge for captain though.

    Latest on Ozil & Brady?

    Good luck all!

I'm hoping my 'four defenders from big teams' strategy will actually work today given Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United and Manchester City have kind fixtures.

In midfield I'm taking a punt on Januzaj (if nothing else I've made £0.2m on him), Ozil (hopefully he passes his fitness test this morning) and Silva.

I've gone with captain Lukaku alongside Rooney and Sturridge.

I found it very hard to pick a captain this week as there were so many good options to be honest.

I have the exact same if I bring in Mert. This is going to come down to a coin toss in the next 10 minutes. I have a vision of Mert getting a clean sheet + goal/assist, and Brady getting a 1 pointer.

From Fantasy Football Scout, dated 18/10/2013:
Robbie Brady could be set for a quick comeback from hernia surgery. The midfielder has returned to training and will be monitored ahead of the trip to Everton – if fit, he is expected to take the place of Stephen Quinn on the left flank for what is likely to be the Tigers’ only change

    Still unsure what to do...

F**k it, Mertesacker in. 4 at the back, looking for clean sheets from all the big teams please. This team looks so strong on paper... cue a 30 point week.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,264 ✭✭✭✭manual_man

Just checked the league table for reassurance. S'hampton conceded 2 goals total in 7 games. Januzaj benched it is

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,605 ✭✭✭Fizman

I haven't edited my team in 11 days. Opened it up last night for the first time since then and thought 'happy with that'. If only every GW was like that. :p

Norwich with a shock 1-0 win today with Turner scoring and Kos ending up on the bench. That's 15 points if my calculations are correct....I have a serious problem

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,600 ✭✭✭roryc

Why would you bring in Januzaj and bench him for the home game when he is most likley to start? Southampton will concede, they are about 10/1 to repeat what they did at Liverpool and win to nil. And a 0-0 draw is about 7/1. So based on this, United are big favourites to score. Benching Januzaj is a crazy move imo.

United scoring less than usual......saints conceding less than normal......these runs normally come to an end with a bang. I'll go 3 0 united. Vidic Rooney and Januzi with the goals ;)

haha well i have Rooney anyway. i can see United nicking it in a tight game. Rooney or RvP to score the winner

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,600 ✭✭✭roryc

Yep, I see 2 or 3 nil to United. These runs always come to an end and I would be amazed if United don't pop 1 or 2 past them.

Lets not get carried away tho. The lad scored just his first senior goals last time out. He's not even guaranteed to start (and you know how Moyes is anyway!). and they're up against the stingiest defence in the league. like yourself i think United will win, 1-0 is the shortest price with the bookies, so that tells you something, i can't see it being a high-scoring affair unless there's an early sending-off or something

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,600 ✭✭✭roryc

Yeah of course, I just think this weekend is his best chance to play a full game, and regardless of their decent start it's still Southampton. The wheels will come off at some stage. I would definitely have played him. Who did you start ahead of him?

FYI - 1-0 and 2-0 are basically the same price.

3 monsters in central defence. no Enrique either. this game usually serves up goals anyway (benched Mig in favour of Bego)

Eriksen. Spurs have beaten Villa 4-0 last two times, don't expect that to happen again!, but just thought he's a better option than Jan this week. as ever, we will see

Spurs will be eager to put on a show today after their capitulation against West Ham.

Eriksen hasn't done great so far but I have to agree that I wouldn't bench an 8m midfielder for a wonder kid not guaranteed a starting place.

i hear ya. i would have taken him out for michu this week, only it would have cost me a 8 point hit. he's undoubtedly a class player tho, you just know he'll score big when he hits form

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,600 ✭✭✭roryc

Yeah Eriksen is a good shout, I'd have played him. Must have a strong team if it was between those two!
