    Hi folks,

I'm looking for some advice on Protein Powders with the goal of gaining mass. I'm a healthy but underweight lad looking to bulk up. I have the essentials like my diet, sleeping pattern and a new gym regime in check.

I have previously used Optimum Nutrition Serious Mass and found that it did work (The calorie and protein levels are very high even with half a portion) Now that I have come to the end of the tub I'm reassessing my options.

Would I get better results buy changing to a Whey Protein or am I better to stay with Serious Mass?

Any input is very much appreciated.
    Thanks a million.

Go for a simple whey protein with at least 70% protein per serving, ie 21g per 30g scoop.

Mass gainers tend to be full of empty calories.

Thanks for the reply. So something like Gold Standard Whey? So with a strong diet and a good weights regime combined with the Whey Protein I could see better results than with the Serious Mass Gainer?

It depends waft you mean by "results", but the average gym rat wants less fat abs more muscle. Whey protein in conjunction with a decent diet abs a good, consistent programme should deliver better results than a mass gainer in my opinion

yeah no need for mass gainer,

are you at a calorie surplus with your diet ?

if not you need find your maintenance calorie for the day and add 300 calories on to that to bulk

also look at this post for a breakdown of cost for proteins,Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey Gold seems kinda expensive

have a look here to simple science fitness

That stuff is pricey for what it is, just use myprotein/bulkpowders/theproteinworks whey protein.
