Hi boardsies. Im trying to start up some simple exercise in my life after about 3 years of a very sedentary lifestyle during which I gained 2 and a half stone, rarely leave my desk and only managed about 2 walks a week. After recently doing a 45 minute beach walk which left my joints in agony and completely breathless I realized I need to start building up a new fitness programme. Im not looking to live in the gym every day just advice on how I can start building simple exercise like walking to my life until I reach an average of maybe 3 or 4 reasonable walks a week, maybe stretching as well.

Im aware my diet has to change as well Ive been changing that the last few weeks and already have more energy but have a mental block as to how to build more activity into my life as Im stuck in a rut of work-sofa-bed and repeat!

Try something a bit easier on the joints like swimming.
I also started yoga a few years ago after a back injury.

It is 80 Percent Nutrition and only 20 Percent Workout.. Workout of course will help you.. But you wouldn't see any big transformation until you will sort out your diet.
