    Week 1.

Have managed to get a week of so called running done. 2 days on with one day off to start with and see how it goes from there.

    Monday
    35 minutes easy on grass.

    Tuesday
35 minutes easy on grass again,

    Wed
    Rest

    Thurs
    35 minutes again on grass.

    Friday
    Rest

    Sat
    35 minutes easy.

    Sunday
40 minutes very very slow around corkage .

Plan is to try and build up to 6 runs by Christmas and take it for there, In the ballot for London so decided to kick off some training just in case I sneak in, but as a fall back might aim for Belfast .

    Week 2
5 runs this week, working on 2 days on one day off.
    4 X 35 minut runs
    1 x 40 minutes
Trip to a physio to start to work on my claf , after a few runs I can feel that its not 100% as normal, so need to get this fixed for good. Seems there is scar tissue that needs to be worked on.

    Week 3
5 runs this week, working on 2 days on one day off.
    4 X 35 minut runs
    1 x 40 minutes

Running really slow at the momnet, and some days not feeling good at all. But managed to get out each day as planned. Sundays 40 min run was a major slog for the first 30 mins but just slowed down even more to get around.

Chances of making startline are at 10% I think at the moment based on motivation, weight and fitness ...

Well after a long time of no specific running training i'm going to try to put a bit of a structure to my training again. After multiple injuries and frustration with running i finally packed it in (kind of). I had given up on racing and in about 3 years only did a couple of beer miles.

Decided I need to get back into proper activity earlier this year after putting on to many kg's . As I never really gave up running but most weeks would only manager 2-3 short 30 minute jogs. In January I also returned to another sport that I used to do back in the day. This allowed me to train 2-3 times a week with out getting injured. To supplement this I've been building up the runs to 4 x 60 minutes runs per week. Depending on how the weeks has been going the runs have decreased but for the last 4 weeks it has usually been 60 mins 50 mins 60 mins 60 mins all at a very very slow page.

As running pace has just been about 10 min mile pace, I haven run any faster in a long long time. The plan form now on will be to keep up my 2 days a week training in my other sport and run 4 days a week and possible a 5th day but this will only be a short recovery for now on.

    So last weeks training was.

    Monday - Judo
    Tuesday Run 55 mins
    Wednesday Run 45 mins
    Thursday judo
    Friday Run 60 mins
    Saturday judo
    Sunday run 45 mins

I've not set any targets but will aim now for a park run in a couple of weeks, just to see where the fitness is, I would expect that I would struggle to be any faster than 28 minutes right now.

Wont set any longer term plans right now, I am in the ballot for London next year , if I did get in that would be the aim but most likely just aim to bring the 5 k times down

Last two weeks have been good . Picked up a slight knock so reducing the training this week a little.

    17th - 23rd
    Monday - Judo
    Tuesday Run 55 mins
    Wednesday Run 45 mins
    Thursday judo
    Friday Run 60 mins
    Saturday judo
    Sunday run 45 mins

    24th - 30th
    Monday - Judo
    Tuesday Run 55 mins
    Wednesday Run 45 mins
    Thursday judo
    Friday Run 60 mins
    Saturday 35 mins easy
    Sunday run 65 mins

Will do a park run in the next 2-3 week just to push the running a little harder, all runs have neen very very easy and starting to progress a little.

Haven't been posting here for a good while and training had been going fairly good. As I've been mostly focused on Judo over the past year , there has been no running specific training . I do run 3-4 times a week depending on other session that are planned .

Manged to do fairly well in national master competitions and fitness levels are good (no running). My runs have just been between 4-7 miles 3-4 days a week with most runs in the 4 mile range. I don't think I've gone faster that 10 minute pace for a mile in a long long time.

But decided to take the plunge and register for the Day of Irish PB's 5k in 11 weeks time . At the moment would find it hard to go sub 30 , but that is mainly due to lack or running specific training in 11 week fairly sure I can get close to the 22 minute make but we will see.

Training week is usually 3 to 4 runs with 2-3 judo session, but going to run 5 days a week for this. The first 6 weeks I will build up my miles slowly with out doing anything faster and then looks at a fitness test or parkrun to see how I am .

Have dug my Garmin out of moth balls and will start to update my log here, Garmin , Strava etc more regularly .

Haven't logged here in a long long time , but going to use this to keep me honest over the next 12 week. Have registered for Seville marathon but haven't done much training in the last number of years.
The plan is just to get around the course with no time goals, and started training maybe 12 weeks ok with some easy running and a very slow build up. Initially with 3x30 min jos per week and slowing increasing until I got to 4x60 min run.

Anyway i've been building up the longer run over the last 4 week and getting ot the 2 hour mark right now.

Will log the last 11/12 week of this training should be getting 5 runs per week , unless I do some double days. Pace wont be mentioned at all as i'm not even checking this on my run for now.

    Monday 26th
AM 30 mins each jog -
    PM Judo

    Tuesday 27th
    60 mins slow

    Wednesday
60 mins - slightly faster but no idea of pace.

    Thursday 29th
    Judo - no running .

    Friday 30th November
1 hour 52 mins very very slow

    Sat 1st december

    40 mins easy on grass.

    Sunday 2nd December

60 mins easy with some strides.

Similar plan for this week with the exception of a slightly longer run on Friday 2:05/2:15 depending on how it goes.

Back again for another Training log !

After a bout of covid in September I haven't run a step for 5 week until this week so just getting back into it easy. Back with a club now so will be doing 2 session a week with them but all easy stuff. No race plans at all but just decided to keep a log once again. I was doing 4/5 4 mins runs for most the year but all at a very slow pace with no real plans other then just getting out the door.

    Monday

40 mins with the club there was a session going on but just did 40 mins easy at the back of the group.

    Tuesday

30 mins easy before work with some core work after.

    Wednesday

Rest / with some light core work.

Weight starting to drop again and have entered the Raheny 5 in Jan so hopefully will keep the progress.
