I'm 25 and have only been able to grow a proper one since around Christmas gone. I wanted one for so long and I'm never letting it go now. All hail beards.

Beards are awesome, the sign of a manly man.

Beards were never out of fashion.

And anyone who concerns themselves with what's in or out of fashion has no right having a beard.

They never really went out of fashion in the last decade.

Beards have been fashionable again for years.

Maybe your beard is so thick that you're having trouble seeing through it?

Don't know a lot about fashion but I always have a beard because I don't like shaving or looking like a baby.

    Beards!

Had a proper beard from the age of 16 up. Great things altogether

It's a recession thing, all that money saved on razors and whatnot could buy you an extra choc ice at the end of the week.

Someone told me that Ronan Keating had a beard for a long time!

I grow a dark ginger beard, I feel like a failure (I'm not ginger) :( So I compromise, I keep it short so the colour blends better

    Blasphemy!

    Beards are amazing.

People who should have beards: Ronnie Drew, Luke Kelly, members of ZZ Top, Father Christmas, Jesus (non baby version).

People who should not have beards: You. Everyone else.

I'm afraid its mostly scrawny hipsters sporting them these days. Possibly to make up for their own lack of manliness

I've a beard down below! No where else!

    Trimmed beards can be nice.

Young guys with long, scruffy pube-esque beards give facial hair a bad name. Bleurgh.

Dont like big bushy beards that you just know there is some food stuck in. Love a fella with a bit of stubble though, i could rub it all night :) (the stubble that is).

Can't go far wrong with a bit of stubble! :D

    Wrongs.

Man up, by a razor and get that mess of your face.

I feel sorry for people who can't grow beards. And I think men who don't like beards are the ones who can't grow proper ones.

Personally I like a nice stubble. Not too thick to the point you'd look homeless. A nice trimmed stubble suits me down to the ground. When I decide to grow it out for a day or two I can't help but constantly stoke my chin like a philosopher

I would generally shave twice a day if i had something to do in the evening, hairy chops are in fashion i suppose, once that changes I imagine clean chins will make a comeback.

If I could surgically remove the need to shave I would.

I thought the title was Boards before I clicked on it.

As for beards, I can't grow one, I just get bum fluff on my cheeks but I am rocking a nice thick goatee at the moment.

Ive got a pretty big beard right now. I think we should organise an after hours beard competition

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,576 ✭✭✭Skill Magill

Had an unclipped beard for a year so it was fairly long and awesome, it took too long to become awesome though, you have to go through some very itchy/scratchy periods which are a pain in the hóle. These days I like being clean shaven and always use aftershave (a perfume for men).
    I'm still well ard though

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,904 ✭✭✭✭Galwayguy35

I always use a trimmers to shave and have it at stubble level, can't remember the last time I shaved the face bare, I work in a cold store so usually grow a beard for the winter.

The first 2 weeks are kinda itchy though as the hair grows.

    I'm in.

Men who don't like beards either can't grow one, or their significant other doesn't like them, and because they're whipped, opt out like the wusses they are. If you can grow a beard, do it, it will make you awesome and women that aren't rubbish will love you.

I see a lot of them hollywood stars have beards these days. Indeed, some of them even have facial hair too...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,975 ✭✭✭W.Shakes-Beer

Been full bearded for 3 years now and haven't seen my chin since!

I prefer it though and don't think I'd ever go clean shaven ever again.

It's a fantastic mixture of red, blonde and white. Sounds mental but I like it.

    I love my beard.
