I judge anything bookended with an xXx, displaying a womens feminine power or mentioning royalty, a name that references sex or sexuality and anything longer than 6 characters.

I judge your username by the gobshítes who come out with that phrase "No smoke, no poke" but they pronounce it as yours is spelt so yeah..it annoys me a little every time I see it.

    I try not too.

Sometimes as an experiment to view my own prejudices, I hide the usernames so see if how I interpret a post changes when I don't know who they are, so I'm judging with a clean slate.

There is a few posters in here who are Gowls and I judge them on that even if they make sense.

I don't think people judge by name much at all here. I would always have thought my name and avatar were quite feminine but I find that as I post quite a bit in some of the tech forums everyone has made the presumption I'm male there.

I try that experiment sometimes too. :)

No I don't think so, but I seem to imagine posters as their avatars.

I judge posters on their usernames if I think that their username is a desperate attempt to qualify themselves as something. I can't give a good example because it would involve mentioning actual usernames, but think something along the lines of a guy who thinks spoons are really cool, who mistakenly thinks people will respect his posts more if they know he has loads of spoons, calling himself spoonman or spoonking or untensilfreak2000. Eugh.

I'm the opposite. I have to look at usernames while reading posts because there are some posters that I cringe at the thought of ever agreeing with them. But it's not to do with the composition of their name, rather their previous posts.

I hate you too, whoever you are.

I try not to, but find it hard not to make assumptions about people with wannabe macho or girly names, "laddish" names like, I don't know, Iluvafewscoops or something, and names like jonno445673784 which just look terrible to me.

this afternoon I judged two flirts; one who had the word "married" in his username, the other for flirting with a user despite his name indicating that he was, in fact, malodorous female genitalia.

(I enjoyed passing judgement, just a small bit.) :)

Mostly no, I wouldn't put much value or importance on the name itself. There are users with deliberately offensive "look at me" names who are not like that at all and there are others with witty 'intellectual" or cool social reference names who come across as idiots.

It's harder not to judge based on post history connected to a name though.

Only the ones with a reference to the IRA, the Irish langauge or with a number in them.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

I have just noticed, with approval, that your location is a Brautigan reference.

This opens up a whole new class of judging, so thank you.

    Bangs gavel. :)

    No.

Mostly because I'm reasonably confident that this is actually a large scale Turing Test and that I'm the only human on here.

One should only judge others based on there actions ... not there boards user name.... Unless it's relevant of course ..

And no, I don't judge by usernames, but I like the clever or punny ones.
