No, natural justice would be if the thing highsided him head-first through a plate-glass window. Still, point taken. I approve of that.

Man who pulls a gun on an innocent person minding their own business ends up getting shot by a gun.

My sympathy meter is not going to be broken by this news today.

if you bothered to watch the video (or read the story :pac: ) you would see that the man is wielding a weapon and used it to hijack the motorbike. ;)

    It is an armed robbery.

Your crime: Armed Robbery, 5 years, wielding a weapon in a public place, 10 years ISO unit, and attempted murder of a Judge. The sentence is Death.

Yeah we just need more guns really. Guns everywhere. That'd be great alright.

If everyone who committed or attempted armed robbery were shot to death, I think Ireland would be a better place.

I've no sympathy at all for armed robbers like the guy in the video. I just think the less guns in the country the better.

Poor guy who owns the bike. Not only does he get a gun pulled on him but the officer fires in his direction.

Em, because the assailant had a lethal weapon...

    Bit of a dim question.

So there's the policeman killing him, or having a nice chat with him and no in-between apparently.

I don't think the guy should have been shot dead either. Force surely could have been used without ending his life.

Like what force? The guy has a gun. What level of force would you advocate using?

Exactly, nice trick shot, shoot the gun out of his hand?

No, double tap to the centre mass, no fooling around, if you are willing to carry a gun and threaten someone with it, be prepared to face the consequences.
Shoot until you are sure that he won't be able to shoot back.

It looks to me like he had already shoved it down his pants and had both hands on the handlebars. In fact, it's quite obvious. This would pass for excessive force even in the trigger happy kip that is the US of A. The Brazilians have form for this kind of stuff though. The police are little more than just anther gang.

The forewarning came when the thief stuck his gun in an unarmed civilian's face..

50 seconds - the gun goes in his belt.
Then he picks up a heavy motorbike with both hands and sits on the bike. Unless he manages to pull and point the gun in the split second the camera is off him just before he was shot (which he can't possibly have done) he is not pointing the gun. This is an execution.

Edit:- In fact, this brave policeman had been watching from his car from about 40 seconds. That's 10 seconds before he saw the thief put the gun in his belt. 8 seconds later, in total safety, he exits his car and commits his murder. 10 seconds after that he takes the gun from the thief's belt, knowing exactly where he had put it.
