I've a feeling that Show won't be making an appearance until HITC, upon which time he will make a big baby face appearance to save Daniel Bryan, before shockingly turning heel, and revealing he was in Co-hoots with Stephen and Trips all along (like this hasn't happened before 40 times))

Or how he sided with HHH, as HHH gave him an iron clad contract and he needed the money. And then him and John Laurinaitis HHH walk off into the sunset.

Last time Big Show was fired he came back turning heel and getting his ironclad contract which was, as we found out, not so ironclad. So will he do the same or will he change things up and come back as a face?

Wonder if tonight, Triple H books himself against Big Show for HIAC, or maybe Big Show vs The Shield.

    Will John Cena return tonight?

And we're in Randy Orton's home town tonight, will the crowd support their local hero and be against Daniel Bryan?

Doubt it, they would've advertised it like mad. Wouldn't be surprised if we don't see him until HIAC.

Wrestling is such an embarassment sometimes. We don't ask for much plot coherency or logic but God damn. It's like in TNA; AJ turns heel "I'm all about the money", 2 months later turns down cheque for enough to retire on.

I wonder how deluded H, Steph and Vince are when they see low PPV buys or TV ratings. It's not their fault, it must be [insert TV or match on that night]!

Tbf WWE and Tna have both been a chore to watch the last month or so. Bar the E.G.O Hall of Fame introduction of Roode.

They'll blame Daniel Bryan for it.

Or that Cena ain't around. A valid point but it shows what little WWE has achieved in the last decade that they rely so much on him and part timers who won't be around until January.

I hope they hype up the danger and finality of the Cell match super hard as Special Guest Referee screams yet another screwjob finish.

I pray to God that there isn't a stipulation that states if anyone attempts to interfere in the Cell match will be fired as that will mean telegraphed Big Show interference.

    Now we are sucking diesel:
WWE announced before Raw that The Shield will defend the WWE Tag Titles against the "Rhodes Bros." Cody & Goldust.

Haha, King acknowledged the Goldberg chants..

    What Goldberg chants?

They're gona have their work cut out for them to make anyone give a flying fóók about either of the Bellas.

So, Punk vs Heyman/Ryback inside HIAC. This should be fun.

    Big Show possibly?

Great pic and great to see Goldust being relevant in 2013.

Really hope Cody Rhodes can push on from this and cement himself as a top star!

Two great parts surrounded by mediocrity but still...

The main event was awesome, from top to bottom.

And Punk actually made the Cell sound like the match it should be.

  • Site Banned Posts: 26,456 ✭✭✭✭Nuri Sahin

Only tuned in for the main event. Glad I did as it was very good despite the crowd not being really into it till nearer the end it seemed. Some really good spots throughout and the correct winners.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 42,796 Mod ✭✭✭✭Lord TSC

    Oh, also...

Xavier Wood getting name dropped and being credited with a "Re-sign Big Show" petition was interesting. JBL's burial of him...was also interesting.

How long has he been in NXT/FCW?

Signed his contract in 2010. Apparently, he's better known as Consequences Creed.

I thought that was quite an enjoyable Raw. Not much into the bringing the Bellas into the storyline, or any of the Wyatts' appearances, but still Punk, the Rhodes brothers, Real Americans and Los Matadores all were very entertaining.

    Isn't Bray injured?
On a side note Bray and Bo Dallas are the sons of I.R.S

Cesaro does, could Jack Swagger really pull off face though?

Why did they waste that main event on Raw? Considering how quick and fast the PPV's are coming, you'd think they would save that sort of match.

Small thing done for storyline reasons, but Bryan walking out on a match against the World Champion that he had just about won was incredibly annoying. Stuff like that is why the World tiltle is seen as a Midcard belt. Commentators saying Bryan had more important stuff didn't help it either.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,672 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

Had to laugh at JBL acting like he didn't know who Xavier Woods was only for Cole to point out he's the GM of NXT.

Hope Cesaro gets a push soon. Don't know if I want him to turn face since need him to fight Sami Zayn when he comes up.

What and leave his fiance to be possibly hurt by a man who has previously had no issue with hurting a woman?

I'm pretty sure there is security and I'd also be fairly sure Bryan has a couple of friends who could have helped out. Abandoning a match against the World Champion makes it look meaningless.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,629 ✭✭✭Adiboo

I'm sure anybody put in that situation wouldn't take that chance and would rush to their loved one. Totally believable scenario for me.

That has never been how WWE works, security are only ever there when the McMahons need them!!!

The title wasn't on the line though.

Still against the World Champion though. If you can't be bothered facing the World Champion, why bother at all?

If you must run that angle, don't do it against the World Champion. It's not like WWE have a small roster.

    Interesting viewership trend for Raw:

    Dave on the front page
Raw was up to 3.99 million viewers last night against NFL competition (11.95 million viewers) and the Los Angeles Dodgers vs. St. Louis Cardinals baseball playoff game (4.83 million viewers)

What's notable is Raw started out well above what it has been doing, but fell off greatly in the third hour. What that says is that there was a reason people tuned in, but either it happened or they realized it wasn't happening late. I'd suggest it has to do with John Cena and Shawn Michaels.

    Hours were:

    8 p.m. 4.11 million

    9 p.m. 4.15 million

    10 p.m. 3.72 million

The rating should fall between a 2.8 and 3.0.

Nitpicking. I had no issue with it.

Good show for the most part. The HBK segment was nothing we've not seen before but served its purpose. The main event was tremendous with the right result.

Surprising as I didn't think it was a bad show.

The pop for Show at the end surprised me. It was huge.

Looking forward to Cena's return as the show lacks star power right now.

That must've been the first time in a long time that a wrestler reacted to the crowd's cheers. Ambrose heard the cheering then started looking around. Usually the crowd could be dead then suddenly go crazy about someone coming through the crowd or running down the ramp and the guys in the match don't notice unless the guy's music plays.

I didn't like HHH pushing Cody and Goldust the new tag champs out of the ring, I kinda wished Cody had knocked HHH out with one of the tag titles

So Show not only takes D Bryan's storyline and now his Yes chant too

Sooner the better The Shield weren't Tag Champions anymore, the belt was being ruined, and in a way so were they. They're too involved in the main stories to be involved with the likes of The Usos.

Having said that you would think Goldust and Cody would bring about the exact same dilemma, do I want to see them feuding with the Real Americans? Not really.

Where the hell is Mark Henry?

Reoccurring hamstring injury. It will be re-evaluated at the end of the month. WWE are hard asses not just about concussions but all injuries now.

It was actually really cool to see a Tag-Team championship match main-eventing Raw, and even cooler to see two real-life brothers win it. Memories of the 90's where tag-teams really meant something.

Although it would have been better to have Raw end with Dusty celebrate with them in the ring, perhaps other family members too such as Cody's new wife, and of course the lovely Terri Runnels :pac:.

Focus should have been on Rhodes here instead of Big Show, but don't get me wrong it was still a brilliant end to Raw.

Really good booking and the Tag Team division is looking pretty fresh right now with the introduction in the last couple of months of The Rhodes Brothers, The Wyatt's, and Los Matadores. Real-Americans also seem to be inadvertently on the verge of turning face as everyone just loves Coulter and Cesaro. The Shield have been around almost 1 year now and have have taken to the main roster like a duck to water.

I'd say the Rhodes Bros will get their celebration on Smackdown (Haven't looked at the spoiler thread) or next week's Raw
