Not worth 790. You'd build a far better PC for the same money brand new.

Where do I even start though? I know there is huge support on here but the whole process seems daunting. Is there a one stop shop for all the info required to self build or would I need to invest the time and do some studying?

It's actually not too bad for that price, but you'd still be better off building your own. Fill out the form here, and someone on here will be better able to help you out.

Fill out the form the lads have linked, and that'll sort out your parts. There isn't a huge amount of reading involved, building a PC is like lego, everything just slots together.

Bit of research is worth doing but pretty straight-forward building the PC itself.

    Well worth doing.

Build it yourself, man. Fresh warranties, your own design, putting it together is easy, it's the drivers that are most annoying (you will have to deal with them one way or another). Come back any time with questions, people are very helpful here, they will help you with stable and well balanced builds.
Also there's that pride thing when you've built one, lol.

Yeah it depends if you can haggle the price down a fair bit, my build is very similar to the one listed, just with a bit better GPU (7970) and 16 GB of ram. Mine wouldnt fetch 790 if i was selling it.

hey mate i was int he same position as you, in march April I was another username, on the site.

I ordered the parts and the wait was unbelievable then I got this big box of parts. Tuck some time watched a ton of you tube channels, about building pcs and asked questions here.

Before I knew it, It was built. I was getting ready to turn it on. that was the really scary part. and when it fired up perfectly I was never so satisfied. its so easy its and its fun :o

Im building pcs in my head the hole time.

the biggest probelm with pcs is case's :pac:
