So eh, aren't the nights drawing in something fierce?

Have you lost weight? No seriously - you are looking great!

What about that game at the weekend, I couldn't believe that result ...

Hey - there's a puppy with a bubble in his mouth

    perftmdanimalpic-1-Copy-580x400.jpg

We haven't even got a kitten photo. All kitties are on strike since their colleague got
    shot
    on Love/Hate ...

Edit: Ya post pictures of dogs and cats every week to fill up space because they don't have proper guests - so then they call your bluff by having a feckin' cat as their main guest. The truth is stranger than fiction

I haven't got much information yet (as you have probably guessed), but here is the news (with thanks to Welsh Megaman and violator for the details) ...

Cleo the Cat comes on to prove she isn't dead after her appearance on Love/Hate. Yes, this is what has been keeping the LLS researchers busy all week. Did anyone ever stop and say "I know we think it's hilarious, but is this going to make good Television?"

    203eefa337ced5704823af2c862fa7bd.jpeg

Regular X Factor wanabee Melanie McCabe will tell us about how she just missed out on a place in the Live Finals. Yet Again. After four attempts perhaps it is time for her to give it up, give it up, baby - give it up (in the words of KC and The Sunshine Band)

    I130913_152304_316235oTextTRMRMMGLPICT000005872543o-2272789.jpg

An appearance from Martha Long who has followed up her first book 'Ma, he sold me for a few cigarettes' with several others called "Ma, I did this or that" - her new one is more of the same, it's called 'Ma, I'm gettin Meself a new Mammy'

    9781609805012.jpg

Hopefully she will be pass her fitness test. According to her twitter she isn't well (I think)
Ah yer so good te me! Ta V much for the goodness an comfort yer all pourin inta me! Right! Got me suckies now off te plaster meself inta bed

    https://twitter.com/MarthaLong/status/388378623725420544

A plug for the upcoming Lord of The Rings Props Exhibition which might be good if the cat pisses in some of their exhibits.

    Lord-of-the-rings.jpg

Muscial Interludes will be provided from Delorentos,

    Birdy

    and The Corus Choir

DLB says we will also have two of the greatest legends in Irish Music. Your guess is as good as mine Update - Paddy Moloney and John Sheahan, no less

    Paddy%2Bplays%2Bthe%2BLark%2Bin%2Bthe%2BClear%2BAir%2Bafter%2Baccepting%2Bthe%2BMedal%2Bof%2BHonor%2Bfor%2Blifetime%2Bachievement%2Bin%2Bmusic.jpg

    John_Sheahan_concert.jpg

An unbilled appearance from former Ombudsman-Woman Emily O'Reilly

    emilyOReilly.jpg

Er, that's it for now. Who knows - Bill Clinton and Rory McIlroy were in town this week, maybe they will be surprise guests? Or Dunphy might wander over from RTE2 after the Football to plug his new book. Or maybe we'll have more of the old reliables - Canteen and Misery Guests.

Also, congratulations to our very own MrsD007 who became a Moderator of the Television Forum this week. Maybe she will make a surprise LLS appearance!

No Miley Cyrus I'd reckon. I checked on Paddy Power.. The odds for this weeks show

100/1 chance of a Twerk, evens of a Twink, and 100% chance of a Twonk (hosting).

    From de twitters...

Author Martha Long (and her mammy in the audience)

Music from Birdy and Delorentos (with their mammies in the audience)

Ireland's biggest choir, The Corus Choir (with their mammies in the audience)

Plus lots and lots of clips!

Really tremendous show in prospect. Something for everyone in a LLS like the classics we remember of yore - and think RT will really show what a skilled and versatile host he his. Dont miss it.

BBC1 Northern Ireland are doing their bit for The Late Late Show by not showing Graham Norton until 11.05pm (thirty minutes later than the other BBC regions).

Maybe that was part of the deal which saw the fabled Hector/Stephen Nolan Show mysteriously vanish from the RTE schedule at the last possible moment on Wednesday

Id put money on Twink and the other panto crowd to be on, oh and maybe someone from cruelty against animals and a guest star appearance by the love/hate cat.

I'd imagine Eamon Dunphy would be on, he has a book out this week and will be in the same building for the Germany Ireland game, he should have that all wrapped up by 10pm, quick stroll down to the green room for a scoop or 3 and on he goes.

Twink will be on sometime soon. Where is King Nidge when you need him most!!

It looks like an interesting show to look at tonight.

It is a pity about Martha Long not being well. Hopes she makes it for tonight.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16 violator

I was considering posting this earlier as a joke and decided not to as it'd be too easy

    BUT. . . . . .

THE CAT from love/hate IS on tonight. . .

    REALLY. . .
I mean. . Words just fail me

On the other hand, it's bigger than most of the guests they have had on previous shows. . .

It's worth having a misery slot just to see Tubridy trying to interact with someone from the lower orders

holy jaysus, come back Gay pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. I'd have to ask who is Tubbers researchers on the show, these are the people who book the guests. how are they not FIRED?? are they transition year students or WTF? if this is all they can come up with week in week out its pathetic. the show has turned into a joke and it used to be unmissable when Gay was the host. even an unknown guest with Gay was still brilliant. now i can barely watch the show its getting so cringey.

I wont be here tonight, and I'm in a rush to get out the door.. But this is the best I can do for the moment... If the cat had appeared on the show..

Preview of the the most interesting part of tonight's show.

    The first ad break.

    And for old time's sake....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,495 ✭✭✭✭eviltwin

A cat? Seriously?? Is that not the kind of fodder best left to his radio show or Nationwide

Still Martha Long will be interesting, I'm reading her first book at the moment.

And go Melanie, she might have missed out on the X Factor but she's on the LLS, lucky lucky girl

I'm surprised as to the naivety of some posters thinking the Late Late could attract a guest of the calibre of the cat from Love/Hate.
In true late late fashion what we will get will be something loosely associated with the cat. So expect to see a bowl of whiskers sitting opposite Tubs at 9.35. First question from Tubs "how does it make you feel when he leans over you with a wet tongue....salivating?"

    I can see it now....

Cleo........The truth about Nidge & the gang in her own purrrrsss...

    Her near-death experience.....

The T-Shirt, Mug and her own brand of stationery by Christmas..........

    Purrrrfect!......:)

ps. Lapin, that first clip should have a health warning.....:(:(:(

It doesn't really matter who's on tonight - anything will be better than watching the Germans blitzkrieg the Irish!

Fur feck's sake! It would give you paws for thought! This show is shaping up to be a CATastrophe!

Know sweet shag all about this cat, whether it's Burmese, Persian, Siamese or whatever, but I have little doubt that Tubridy will quiz the mammal at some point about its Irish roots and whether it feels proud to be Irish. If it's also suffered from depression and tried to top itself by throwing itself on Halloween bonfires etc then all the better.

With JonoAnono's absence tonight, I thought I'd have a lil' Photoshop fun...

Leave Cleo alone, she is a great actress, the way she reacted to the bullets on love hate was the mark of a true professional.
I can see her moving onto bigger and better things, she would be perfect as a replacement for the Coronation street cat.

DLB promised us 'two of the greatest legends in Irish Music' before the news.

So that could be Foster and Allen or The Carter Twins ...

Maybe Twink will be on to tell us about when "she took a lover"

Off to down a can as a warm up for tonight's show. Need to get the balance right though as I want to be drunk enough to get through the LLS yet sober enough to enjoy G. Norton.
