I am in college and I'm currently trying to eat healthy while cooking basic meals. I'm just asking would chicken and quinoa with pesto be healthy to eat. Would quinoa go well with pesto or something like bolognese. Need some very basic ideas because my diet has gone to ****e since I went back to college.

Any recipe you'd use rice or pasta you can swop for quinoa.

I love Quinoh with coriander and lime like so

and add any lean meat you choose (recommend prawns or chicken myself) if you are that way inclined.

This is really easy and delicious! (and I'm sure you could add meat if you wanted to)

Thanks for the replies, but I cant use those recipes because I can't cook for the life of me. Would say chicken and quinoa with a chilli sauce go well together for example? When it comes to cooking I am as basic as it gets.

Yeah its fine. I used to make my meat sauce and then just add my cooked quinoa to the same pot and stir.

It's not rocket science. Once you stop thinking you're going to make a mess of it and give it a go, you'll be surprised how edible what you've made is :)

Give it a lash - the one I posted is not cooking at all - it's chopping, boiling and stirring !

You have to cook the Quinoh one way or the other - this is just chucking stuff in with it to make it taste awesome.

One very simple and tasty thing to try is to add half a stock cube to the water when cooking the quinoa.

Yeah I did that with a vegetable stock last week. Really gave it a taste.

Gonna make chicken, pesto and quinoa now to bring for lunch tomorrow.
