    Any chance of a loan!!

I have a strange one. We have 2 herd numbers. One belongs to my OH. One gets the maximum Ha payment at €82.27. The other had 11 HA up to last year and this year we added an extra 2HA of a field that we had always rented, but only added this year. Up to last year we always only got the lower rate of €82/ha. This year, after adding the extra 2 or so Ha, we got paid €95.99 for the whole 13 Ha. The extra land that we added is just 1.5 miles from the main block of land and is in the same parish.

If it's a mistake, I'm not going back to tell them ;)

thats whats all wrong with the system, fellows like your self on the best of land milking the system for all it worth. How the F do you manage to claim €46 quid. I wonder what the administration cost to your DAS payment would be, €150????

I turned it into beer vouchers

Would you feel better if I had gotten €4600?

No money here yet. Already know what's wrong, same shíte every year. I think I will phone them on Monday as the way things are going I'd usually wait a while but if SFP is blocked up too I could be in trouble quickly.

They could dig up my last census and my AEOS plan and process my DAS automatically, but that would make sense and the civil service don't do sense.

if he had to look out his window ever morning to the sight that you and I see of rushes, rock and misery he would be thankful his payment is only €46

I look after 5 herds for SFP etc for the extended family and no payment for anyone of them yet. Lots of pensioners so there is little fear of them, Twill be all flowing in my direction eventually anyway:D:D I wish

I really think this is the absolute pits what is going on this year. The silence from the IFA is deafening they are the most useless shower they are worse than the department. To my eye it seems the dept have cynically decided to slow the payment of DAS for whatever reason knowing that the recipients i.e. small farmers, are poorly voiced and ignored by the IFA.
There will be no delay with the SFP where the big swinging mickeys would be roaring like bulls if their payment was as much as minute late.
It's a murky slimy setup the whole thing but the financial distress it's causing is huge and deeply deeply worrying.
Really farming lobbyism is weak as a kitten and farmers have been forced to take massive income cuts in the last 3 years. And there is more to come when the REPS well finally runs dry over the coming months. Some guys will have 8-10 grand sliced off their income in one go. Imagine trying to impose income cuts like that across the public sector.

The Department staff are "protected" under Croke Park thanks to the Unions. So farmers take the hit instead through closure of REPS etc. No guesses for which is the stronger lobby group. This Minister is only laughing at the IFA and biding his time for a better Ministerial position.

labour ministers are vehemently protecting union interests at the cabinet table so absolutely no way will the public sector be touched that would bring down the government.

When Coveny looks at his agriculture budget and where to distribute the pain of course he is going to have no problem directing that pain on to small farmers who are not his constituency. This DAS delay looks like a classic case of party politicking and the historic disregard Simon Coveny's party had for a certain class of farmer is clearly on display here.
It was very underhand of them not to inform people they would not be paid on the 24th sept that was the real unforgivable aspect of it. When your a dry stock farmer everything is budgeted to within an inch of its life. Payment dates are really really important and makes things very awkward and desperately embarrassing when you have to go and tell creditors to hold off for a few more weeks when they were expecting to be paid.

simple texting system to say you are cleared for payment or not a week before payment date

They'll do that with any overpayment/fine if you don't go to the trouble of paying them before the date of your next cheque.

I got no over claim letter (yet), if I do I'll be ignoring it. I won't waste my time arranging payment for them. They don't waste any time on doing me favours.

my understanding was that the sfp and das are 2 different schemes should they not have taken the sfp over payment- which was for the river that goes through our farm, so no disputing it- from my sfp?

They attempted to fine me before, they made no distinction on payments, just referred to future payments.

Still dragging on here no sign of money.

Really disappointing that there is so little anger in the farming community over this issue.

It seems rocking the boat is really abhorrent to most farmers.

If they are not going to pay us can they give us back our industry ?

If you're not telling your local IFA office, nothing will be done, they need specific cases not just a vague ''boo hoo no one's getting paid''.
As I said before no one has been on to me

Ah here farmers are not bring paid left right and centre a dog with a mallet up its hole knows there is a desperate underhand govt policy this year.

It's obvious the absolute ****e is being squeezed out of the farming sector.

While still the public sector lives protected in the year 2008.

The government tell us they are not cutting any farm payments this year then they just don't pay us. Then if ya ring them they tell ya everything is fine and payment is cleared etc but they still don't pay ffs.

Fair hard deal with them when they won't admit they are not paying ya.
It's like they are pissing on our heads and telling us its not raining.

Like its fine This money has to go to accountant, tax man, co-op, bloodsuckers the lot they can all go sing for it.

That is fine and fair play to you but if you were to that for every farmer who wasn't paid you would be a very old man by the time you are finished.

Why are the IFA so lethargic on this issue?

If just 1 public servants pay was a minute late siptu/ictu/fuku etc would have the country at a standstill.

What we have here is wholesale gang rape of farmers by the government while they tell us they are not and the IFA are swallowing it. Thinking its just a farmer here and there.

We had our election debate this week, it wasn't brought up, 200+ at it
My county exec two weeks ago, not a word about non-payment,
My subsidies have never been delayed,
No one has been on to me,
I've advised you what to do, doesn't matter to me if you don't do it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,488 ✭✭✭coolshannagh28

This is all down to that lapdog Coveney he was shoved into agriculture because he was on the wrong side in the heave against Kenny, now he is cutting small farmers to ribbons to ingratiate himself into a promotion . He will throw a bun at his ass in 2015 in the form of an AEOS equivalent when he moves on to secure votes and farmers will continue the Pavlov s dog routine.

If your not a member well then you can't be complaining about them, can you?

If I was owed money I'd follow every avenue to secure payment

History will look back on these as the days when the final nail was driven on the coffin of the Irish family farm - don't make the mistake to believe this is by accident - Policy, Policy, Policy. Be very careful what you vote for.

Here here.... as a man who voted fine Gael in 2011 as a reaction to the last ff govt these episodes of delayed payments to the smaller farmers and cutting schemes aimed at them will live long in my memory never again will I even contemplate voting FG again.

Agree on voting, really pissed off at the cost of living. I gave no problem with income tax as that's what it is, it's all the other charges and no return along with VHI etc that gets me.
The waste in gov dept and local authorities is another real big issue with me.

Problem is we don't really have a great choice in who we elect as there is a real lack of any talent available

The independents are a joke and the Shinners are a non runner so who's left?

What we need is a party to represent smaller farmers interests. Wonder what party would do that???
