I saw Swiper mention the old present making on another topic so said I'd raise it here.

I had a cattle shed to build last night. 38 screws, about 20 numerous pieces of wood and other parts then.

Only 3 tiny diagrams showing me what to do with all of this. Took near 3 hours after the Chelsea Arsenal game.

It'll be worth it in the morning.

got my young lad a table football game. Lets just say I wouldnt be the best at assembling things , 30 minutes of total concentration and I was getting nowhere . My wife came along and assembled it in 10 mins.

Is it just me or does Christmas really make people go out of their way to be offended by nothing?

    Sigh...

Got my GAA season ticket today. Can't wait for it to get going again. O'Byrne Cup starts January 4th. Only 12 days to go, hard to believe.

Back training with my club on the 6th, not looking forward to that.

    Anyone here play GAA?

I'm retired. At 30 and with two kids the time just isn't there!

Not even for club football? I'd go mad if I had to give it up. Been going spare these last 3 months without it, you just don't get that same buzz playing 5 a side soccer.

What are your hopes for Cavan for 2014? It'll be interesting to see if Mr.Johnston makes an appearance for them.

Not a hope it'll happen. The funny thing is that all the lads who were dropped with him are back in the panel now, or were previously in it.

Our number 1 aim would be promotion from Division 3 at senior level and to finally win an All Ireland at U21 level. This U21 team are the actual lads that won the Ulster minor championship. None of the other U21 winning teams of the last 3 years did.

Don't talk to a Kildare man about throwing away U21 All Irelands..

That is pretty much my house at the moment.

Mountains out of molehills and all that.

At least I get to spend tomorrow evening in my girlfriends house. Only thing I'm looking forward to right now..

Are you referring to this year? I thought Galway were good value for their win tbh.

Will yas miss Seanie down there!? The county team might be a bit cheaper to run without his travelling expenses!

I was in Lanzarote in August and was talking to a Kildare man a good but in the hotel. He told me he cringes when he even hears the lad's name.

Galway were good but that Kildare team seriously under performed that day. 25 wides tells you all you need to know.

Seanie won't be missed because he never done anything of note on the pitch. I don't like to criticise him much. At the end of the day he's an amateur footballer.

The way the whole thing was handled was a PR disaster from start to finish. McGeeney, the CB et al didn't cover themselves in glory that's for sure.

Apart from our seniors it was a good year, Leinster titles for our Minors, Juniors and U21s is not to be sniffed at.

Have high hopes for Jason Ryan, he has assembled an excellent backroom team and has a lot of that U21 team to work with. Looks like the great Johnny Doyle is going to give it one more year too which is a plus.

A Leinster title would be great, but we'll have to beat the Dubs and that's hard to see.

I've a u21 premier county football semi final on Stephens day!

Mayo man here, less of the GAA talk please.

Also retired at 30... Well, I actually hung up my Mikasas long before that. Was playing senior football with the club and eircom u21 with the county so I had a choice and picked the latter. Really wish I had stuck with GAA.

Don't play anything now. One kid and another on the way, I've made a strategic move and took up golf a few years ago. No injuries and 5 hours peace and quiet.

Kids are great, getting off Mass this morning as it's nap time :)

Off to play Ballybunnion, how bad.

Shouldn't be playing golf on such an indecisive captain pick.

What a day for playing Ballyb, you'll be lucky if the search and rescue helicopter doesn't need to get involved:p

    Is this a kids toy:confused:

Typical Christmas day, I spent ages putting together an expensive kitchen for them but they spend the whole day playing with the little knick-nacks that they've got in their stockings

I've four girls, as a lifelong city boy I don't even know what a cattle shed looks like but it would make a welcome change from fairy dust, dolls houses and kitchens etc:(

Those season tickets are fantastic value and certainly the best innovation the GAA has come up with in many a year. I've had one since they launched a few years back and have no hesitation in renewing every year

Was a cracking day for it, not a drop of rain and the only wind of note was from eating like a pig yesterday... We did time it pretty well, it was p*ssing by the time we got our burgers :)

They let us play for free, bonus.

Sounds like it is unfortunately. Hope he pulls through ok. Controversial figure but a giant of F1 and sport in general.

I heard the lads over on the alcohol forum tested this before and there was nothing wrong with beer and alcohol out of date.
