Accounting Technicians - part-time/correspondence course - where to study?

    Hi,

    I am signing up for second year of the Accounting Technicians exams, and I've just realised that the tuition fees are separate to the other fees payable.

    Can anyone recommend the cheapest option? As far as I can see, for correspondence learning, you can study through Accounting Technicians or McKeon Murray - however I can't find details of fees for either of these online. Or would the part-time learning work out cheaper? And if so, at what college? (Preferably Dublin 15 or Dublin city centre.)

    If I opt for the part-time learning (which I will only do if it's cheaper than correspondence), is attendance at lectures compulsory? (Would miss a good chunk of them mid-year, as I'm due a baby after Christmas.)

    I'm planning on studying at home anyways and would feel quite comfortable just working from the textbooks without doing any formal tuition (correspondence or otherwise) - will they allow this? I.e. is there any chance I could sit the exams without signing up for tuition?

    Thanks for any info. It's very annoying that it's not available online!
