Tinned fruit...Healthy or not? Just trying to get another serving of fruit into my diet, and I'd like to have a bit more variety and tinned fruit seems a little more cost effective with its longer shelf live

Try and get the stuff in juice not syrup.

Compare these two products:
Tesco Grapefruit Segments In Light Syrup 538G

Tesco Grapefruit Segments In Juice 538G

and you can really see the difference in sugar content.

How is it more cost effective when pineapples are often on special offer for €1 and grapefruits are like 6 for €2 in lidl.

If you find fruit expensive, try lidl and aldi. They both sell really good fruit

Nothing beats eating real fruit,not chopped processed or sugared,fruit has its own natural sugars fructose..
