Ulster backline looks tasty, good to see Bowe back. Can Payne put down an early marker for an Irish 13 jumper? Can Gilroy shine at 15? Jackson to put in a good performance, with Madigan kicking off his season at 10 in 30 minutes or so? Etc.

Superb effort. And great offload by TB. A hair in it. He's already 22 though so past it by Ulster's breakthrough standards!

Looking awkward for Lutton there. Disappointed for him. If he's out for a spell, Ulster cannot afford to allow Afoa to do his disappearing act of last season and do what's best for themselves.

Thought it was a try for sure, but on the replay foot just out first.

  • weird choice from Marshall but that's a super kick

  • Tom Court showing why he was a Lion

    :pac:

  • Unlucky bounce and maybe a bit strong too, great thinking from Jackson though

Ulster backs too deep on attack.

For all their talent in the back line, Ulster have looked a bit disjointed. Trying to whip it wide too quickly. Looking for 9 to 10 to 13 to the widest man a couple of times.

3-3 is a poor return for Ulster from the opening quarter.

  • Henderson is a scary scary man

  • Payne through a gap, simple pop to Marshall.

    Try time

    Beautiful try!

    Well taken.

Was a big suspicion of an offside from Ulster when carrier (Henderson?) broke off the maul with Henry with Henry facing him and dragging him. They momentarily detached and then he went into Henry again who latched on in front of him.

    And over to Leinster.

  • Tommy Bowe on the brink of a piece of magic there.

  • Gorgeous try.

    Michael Allen deserves that too

Jackson has been outstanding in general play and rubbish from the tee. 2 from 5 now.

Treviso were playing very well for a period there, but Ulster are just too clinical. Michael Allen is looking really good.

    Game over, great win!

Michael Allen looks a really impressive player at this level. It'll be very interesting to see how he progresses and the back three depth in Ulster at the moment is an embarrassment of riches. Will Trimble be able to get back in?

What happened to Henderson? Hope it's not serious, he has a big season in front of him and I hope he's available for it.

Great result in Ravenhill and it's looking well too.

Watching that game back again I have to say that Luke Marshall was really excellent in just about everything he did.

Allen was very good too. Jackson's general play was top drawer, goalkicking not so.

    Good win.

Went off with his shirt rolled up into a sling under his arm with physio leading him. Looked like the stance of a badly injured arm or possible shoulder dislocation although he didn't seem in enough pain for that.

Luke Marshall and Iain Henderson will be fixtures in the Irish side similar to Brian O'Driscoll and Paul O'Connell have been recently..

Like Marshall was everywhere in defence and attack. Totally deserved the MOM. Superb.
