    Impromptu dart forum meet up?

If I head in on the Monday I would be up for that, just have to see which day suits.

I'd say so, tickets now only available from Citywest according to the PDC site

    http://www.pdc.tv/news/article/qvde2zdh6fog1kt3i345roif0/title/partypokercom-world-grand-prix-tickets

Unlikely to be able to get tickets for the weekend tickets though but give em a ring and check it out

Barney wins today's pro tour event following Lewis's win yesterday.

Big guns look to be in decent form with MVG playing well as well.

So it's the business end of the darts calender as the tournaments come thick and fats all leading up to the World Championships.

I really enjoy the World Grand Prix, it's a unique tournament that always throws up a few shocks throughout. You just can't beat a week of darts, unfortunately it looks like I won't be able to make it in for any of the days as it's too hard to get home from during the week.

It would be great to see the Irish lads Connie Finnan and Brendan Dolan do well but I'm tipping the Power to win it.

I don't know what you're watching pudzy but it's not the Grand Prix!

Looks like a decent enough crowd on the Tv Kev.

That was a great set of darts, Nicholson with an average of over 100 with the double Starr and he lost the set!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,000 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

Ya its filled out nicely. Pretty good atmosphere for a Monday night

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,146 ✭✭✭✭_Kaiser_

I can't believe I'm only discovering that there's a darts forum on boards now!

Watching this on TV but looks like a good atmosphere in the place and some good matches so far.

Add an ice cold beer and it's the perfect Monday night here :)

Welcome (watch out for the mods, ruthless bunch).

    ****
Forgot how long a night the Mon/Tuesday can be, decent chance it goes past midnight.

Good to see Nicholson playing well again on stage, and without being ott with the whole 'asset' persona.

mansell, 3 darts at D/20 to beat withlock, that d/10 didnt click for him at all. still hard luck super effort, super darts

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 12,359 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kingp35

I don't believe that! Best I've seen Mansell play but to miss three clear darts for the match has got to be hard to take. Disappointed

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,146 ✭✭✭✭_Kaiser_

I do love watching Phil Taylor at work, and he's in great form tonight from the looks of it

For guys like Mansell it's a rare opportunity to win a few grand for a single match, gutted for him but well done Connie Finnan

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 121 ✭✭Decobuzz

Does anybody know if tickets will be available to buy on the day on Friday? I know there are tiered tickets available but I won't be able to get down to Citywest until then. I rang reception but they didn't seem to know. Any idea lads?

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 12,359 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kingp35

The Friday night sold out months ago. It's by far the most popular night of the week.

Delighted for Connie Finnan, pity I didn't get to see it as I was in work early this morning but it has to be up there with the biggest wins of his career and the money earned will push him up the rankings a bit.

    Tiered seating is still available.

Nobody from Ireland will complain but the system of allowing the top 2 Irish ranked Pro Tour players into this event and then pick up ranking prize-money is not very fair to non-Irish players who are trying to struggle their way up the rankings?

That happens in a lot of tournaments, particularly the European Tour Events where a certain amount of players from the host country are allowed enter. I don't really have a problem with it because otherwise these lads would never get to play on the TV.

Personally I would like them to go back to the old system though where the Irish players qualified through a tournament that was held each year. That opens it up to any Irish player to try and qualify for the tournament.

    There is always Lewis!

Going up Friday for quarter finals. A super night. Would like to see the likes of Anderson Chisnall or Barney win it

Not great tonight in the excitement stakes.

That first leg of the Pipe v Smith match was surely the worst we'll see all week

Fu*k you Mervyn King let me down for a nice treble tonight :-(

Jackpot pretty unstoppable there tonight. Tough draw on Dolan would have beat a lot of others in the first round. Cracking game though

Poor start to the evening but it really got exciting towards the end. MvG looks in great form. Looking forward to the second round against van barneveld

Going tonight, can anyone tell me if there's a bookies on site? Presume if there is, it's the usual terrible odds about everything
