Considering a United defender for their game against West Brom next week, Kompany back in the City team dropped in value since his injury, away to Villa next week, but good long term option.

Looking to get Michu back but will take two weeks and may involve selling Soldado

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,141 ✭✭✭Santi101

Might try Rooney for next week. Could be on one of his purple patches right now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 691 ✭✭✭ghosttown

Rooney in next week, Suarez the following... have spare cash, but who out ?? Soldado Sturridge and Giroud up front now...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,226 ✭✭✭qwabercd

Have two ft. Depending on my mood may take 4/8 point hit. Ward-prowse a definite gonner. Michu a definite acquisition. Lamela on a tightrope.

Edit - Lamela set to drop tonight and spurs not playing until tomorrow. Will still hold off and see how he plays. Really regret picking him over eriksen.

Rooney and Suarez may be in Vogue over the next few weeks. I've got 2 transfers to play with and may make 3. Will wait til after the weekend and even the League cup if I can.

    Most likely it's Rooney time

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 344 ✭✭DJKendo

Unless Soldado hits a brace or better this week, it's more than likely him out and Suarez in.

Looks like Benteke out -- for Rooney, Giroud, AN Other

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,205 ✭✭✭Lucas Hood

Plan was Soldado to Rooney but Benteke's injury has complicated thiings . Can afford Rooney rising tonight but no more than that .

Was going to transfer out Sturridge for Rooney, looks like Benteke will departing my team after 1 GW!

Ugh I hope Benteke's injury stops people transfering out Soldado. I'll need to sell tonight otherwise and I really don't want to rush things this week.

    People and their impatience!

It's likely that i'll be among the many who will be moving Benteke out and Rooney in before Rooneys price rise tonight.

Unless you need the 0.1 I'd advise against it. Anything could happen tomorrow with Rooney. He could get injured/suspended.

I'm making the same transfer but no way am I bringing in a player before he plays.

United also play Liverpool in the Cup during the week.

I had three transfers in mind. Will have to do one of them, Whittaker to Vidic, now.

Might take a four point hit to get Nolan out also.

Had planned on shipping Lampard for Erikson but after Benteke's injury ill have to wait to see just how bad it is before i pull the trigger on anything! Might just bring Suarez in next week instead!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,962 ✭✭✭Hogey007

ok so given united's upcoming fixtures and rooney's form i want to get him in but don't want to lose RVP yet, Soldado seems the obvious choice to go.

I keep RVP, Rooney and giroud and decide in 4,5, 6 weeks which of rooney and RVP i want to go with.
Happy enough to do that but the problem is, if i wait until tomorrow i'll lose .2. (rooney rises .1 tonight, soldado drops .1)

If i don't wait until after tomorrow, soldado could go nuts and make me want to keep him or rooney could get injured (or RVP) and then again they have to get through wednesday (if either play)
I made f**k all on my wildcard this year unlike last year so don't really want to lose .2 on a transfer i'll probably make anyway?
I know the sensible thing to do is wait and see but i'm after coming close to saying ah f**k it, just save the .2 and do it now.
I was looking at my team for next week and i actually have no idea who i can leave on my bench apart from ward prowse so in theory, if i brought in rooney and he got injured/suspended i could bench him easily enough?

    Benteke -> Rooney done.

Against: too early, might get injured
For: one of FPL's best, rising tonight, favorable fixtures, why wait?

The first part answers your second part. You will have a nervy time tomorrow hoping Rooney doesn't get injured/suspended.

Anyone know how bad Benteke's injury is? I want to throw Lukaku in before he goes up in price and I don't know whether to swap him for Benteke or Soldado.

Really liked Southampton's defense even before today, and am especially interested in Clyne.

Noticed he has collected 2 bonus points in consecutive matches. My only worry in whether himself and Chambers are going to be heavily rotated.

I have both barkley and brady but only want to keep one of them as I want a midfield of walcott, ozil, eriksen, moses plus one of the above. Who do we reckon is the better option brady or barkley?

brady. but i wouldn't be too keen on shipping barkley at the moment either, are the other 4 set in stone in your mind?

How good is Luke Shaw btw? Fantastic youngster, surely at an elite club in the next few years.

I'd love him at Arsenal, he's better than Gibbs already for me.

Anyone see the Chelsea / Fulham game? Did Darren Bent look sharp?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,141 ✭✭✭Santi101

Bent had a one-v-one early in the game, missed and then I didn't see him throughout. Fulham are in pretty poor shape right now.

I think so Im definetly looking to play 3 4 3. With my 3 defenders being centre backs from top 6 teams. I was thinking of changing soladado to eriksen for my spurs cover. It would give me this team in 4 transfers Ive 2 free ones at the moment.
    Boruc
    Dawson vidic terry
    ozil walcott eriksen moses
    rooney sturridge lukaku

What I have to figure out before the night is over is whether the risk of going for Rooney and Suarez over Soldado and RVP is worth the reward considering any and all the factors that may come into play before next weekend or wait and lose at least 0.2.

With Liverpool playing United in the LC you could have any of those 3 pick up injuries/red cards and Spurs could finally click and Soldado looks like the man we thought him to be. MOTD may provide some wisdom in a bit but it could prevent me picking up a 7+ hitter in midfield if I wait.

yeah that looks a decent team alright and if you had to choose one from the 2 to keep then it'd be brady, he's nailed on to play (barring injury), barkley is hot at the moment but will he remain first choice when all midfielders are available?

however, just to give you food for thought, if you kept both and let go of moses or didn't get eriksen, you could use the spare cash to bring in kmpany as a 4th strong def, and if it's eriksen you don't get you might even have cash to bring mig or ddg for boruc?
I just feel brady is a season keeper, and you know i was harping on about him pre-season, not just saying it because he scored again today, he's on penalties too.
Barkley at the moment is looking very very good, i watched the match today and he was very effective and got forward a lot.
it's tough though, because as you called before last week, moses was a great shout for the next few weeks so you don't want to lose him and eriksen looks very good too so if you're instinct is to go with those 4 then it's probably best to go with your gut.

Food for thought alright. Thanks for that Im going to sit tight for a few days now and forget about price rises/falls. With soldado more than likely dropping tonight and rooney going up I was getting itchy fingers however as Id no money in the bank it required 2 transfers. Ill see how the games go tomorrow gives me another look at eriksen/soldado to assess that. Then I think ill just wait to see what happens with the utd line up on wed night before I make my decision. Initial plan when I played my wildcard was do boruc to ddg in Gw8 and maybe I will still do that and replace vidic with kompany. You banged the brady drum alright my problem with him is because he plays for Hull I'll rarely play him even though I should.

Much love for Remy? Seems to be settling quite well at Newcastle.

I was thinking Bentekkers to Rooney but I'm willing to wait. I've never had Rooney in FF and there's soemthing holding me back now aswell......he's very flaky these days and I'm not sure he is a better option than the 9m strikers anymore.

    Benteke out Rooney in

Anyone losing faith in Walcott? Really needs to repay us a little bit tomorrow.

2 assists so far but he's botched about 5 good goal chances.

Lampard out someone else in. That's just to start, have 2 free transfers and would not rule out a point hit to get a mini wildcard

ah yeah will the difference in me with brady and you with brady is your midfield would be much better than mine (i call it the RVP factor)
So whereas he's my 3rd best mid and will play most weeks, he'd be your 5th mid and would rarely play, but still at a low price so worth hanging onto for when he does have home games against bottom half clubs.

I've came very close to pulling the trigger on rooney for soldado several times, would much rather watch them both first but that luxury costs me .2 and barring a brace for soldado i'd probably still do the transfer.
Even if rooney is quiet tomorrow i wouldn't read a whole lot into it as he'll more than likely be playing a withdrawn role.

Spurs fixtures are turning tricky, only 3 "easy" games in the next 8 or 9, whereas united have a nice little run coming up after tomorrow. Even then, having both rooney and rvp will catch me out over that period as hernandez is way to good not to be given games.
One part of me is saying, be sensible, wait and see, the other is saying, just get it over and done with, i'll save .2 and won't be agonising over my transfer for the next few days.

Once he's getting in those positions though the goals will come.

Last year I got him in early and then he burst into life with a hat trick and 2 assists in the Newcastle demolition.

Re Brady or Barkley, I have both but if I was to choose one I'd go with Brady.

thinking the same myself with a mini wildcard. The biggest thing ive learnt this season is to hold off till after gw 4 with my wildcard(Ive always played it after gw 3). Gives you a week to see how the new boys settle in.

have a bit of money in the bank after the oscar to moses switch so will leave the rooney to soldado transfer. it'll probably end up costing me .2 but i have 6 players playing tomorrow and any of them could get injured making me rethink my transfer so it's worth the .2 when so many have still to play, especially the 2 players involved in the transfer.

i think your doing the right thing. Utds fixtures are great but if your planning on going with rvp and rooney I think you really need to wait to see what happens wednesday first. Say rooney and hernandez play wednesday. It could well be rvp and wellbeck/kagawa on sat against wba. Rooney/rvp in donetsk is a definite then after a long journey back from ukraine will they go rooney/rvp again seen as they play in donetsk on a wed night and then have sunderland away on the sat. The donetsk game apart from the city game is the key one between now and the international break as a positive result over there sets utd up nicely for topping the cl group.

my wildcard has worked nicely so far aswell. However there were a few issues mainly eriksen and a liverpool defender that I didnt feel comfortable with until I seen the line ups from last week.

Nolan and Soldado out for Brady and RVP depending what happens after Wednesdsay night.

I want to get rid of Lampard and Ward-Prowse. Some choices I had in mind are Barkley, Moses, Brady, Oscar. With a 4 point hit, it would probably be Oscar and Brady in.

But if I get rid of Ward-Prowse, I definitely wouldn't be able to afford Suarez. Will Suarez be worth getting?

If I hang on to Ward-Prowse for the home game against Palace, and if I take a 4 point hit to get Lampard and Benteke out, I could get in Brady and Suarez and have 2.4 left in bank.

Or... 3rd option would be to just sit on the (fairly decent) team I have for the week coming, and avail of 2 free transfers the week after.

With Suarez Sturridge and Moses, Liverpool should really make short work of Sunderland coming week. Right now, I have Sturridge and Mignolet.

    Any thoughts?

I hope to fook Rooney goes mad and gets himself a suspension tomorrow. Can't understand for the life of me why people go nuts transferring in a player that can potentially play 180 minutes before the next game week. Anything can happen. Collective lunacy.

For those getting rid of Soldado it's a £0.2m swing, worth the risk IMO.

    Agreed.

Thankfully I have enough in the bank to be able to do this transfer and for it not affect me even with that swing so I'll wait until after Monday's game, but if it was a matter of pulling the trigger tonight or not at all I'd be going for it.

I'm getting rid of Sturridge and VP for Lukaku and Rooney. Feel the wheels are about to come off the Sturridge wagon with Suarez back and with the inevitable decline in pool results. Have to even out the money resourses that VP demands and see Rooney as a cheaper entry into ManU attacking points. I've been a fan of Lukaku for a few years now and am delighted to see him a Toffee so expecting him to be the partner Miralles has been waiting for in that team.

Just did Snodgrass to Moses. I have 2 free transfers this week although I think I may bank the second one. There aren't any immediate transfers I need to make bar strengthening my defence. In saying that though Chester is out for a few weeks so I'm currently left with 4 fit defenders and one of those was dropped this week.
