Was discussing this with a lad and we were both of the same opinion that once ever 5-6 years is enough to go. It rarely changes that much and mostly is targeting non farmers at this stage. Money gathering excerise

    Tuesday for me.

Beware of magic mops and bargain perfume, if you see a large crowd gathered around a man giving a demo of his fake goods go the opposite direction. I don't understand how people get caught out with this year after year

We'd and Thur. Taking kids on Wed and on my own Thurs want to get info on electronic id for cow drafting. I am also toying with the idea of upgrading the tractor cattle trailer

Are u sharing a stand with anyone else? Chatting to lad earlier, his stand costing €1000. Cost probably depends on size and location I suppose.?

Plan to go on Tuesday. My stockpile of plastic sticks is running low so I have to top up.:D Weather is looking good so should be big crowds. Hate giving Anna May €20 though.

Can good deals be found there or is it just the fact you can check similar products from different suppliers in the one day??

Was supposed to be going on Wed but got a job interview so bloody delighted. Going on Tuesday now, will hopefully take my mind off the nerves about the interview.

A stand all to himself for 1k? Jez that's less than I thought a stand would cost. Not a bad price depending on the business a person would have, and considering the amount of people that attend.

If you don't post it Monday I'm bringing a car load down on Tuesday so will take the ticket if its still going spare. I don't think I'm more than a few miles from you.

Keep saying I'll go some year but never do. As my missus calls it "a red light district for farmers"

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,893 ✭✭✭allthedoyles

The company i work for have a stand there , so if they give me free ticket , I might go , but its unlikely they will.

Last years championships turned me off , for a number of reasons .

Yeah going missed the last couple of years.bringing the family and the girl is 5 so getting worried because she mightn do all the walking and im getting old for alot of piggy backing

Not going. Was at tullamore and the highland show so that's my quota of shows filled for the year. I find the ploughing a bit repetitive after going the last few years on the trot anyway.

It was a hive of activity. The amount of people was unreal. Anyway it looked good, looking forward to it now on Wednesday.

Will probably head down Thursday, late enough that I get in after the morning rush, but equally so I need to escape at about 3pm to get home for the milking! 2bh any longer and I'll be bored and sick of walking! Need to find a cheap bulk tank, and will look around at parlours/sheds etc.
